I only drive this route once a week and in the evening.
I-90 is faster for me when alone, but I-405 is faster when I'm with my wife due to the use of the HOV lane. Also, I'd rather go a bit out of my way if it avoids gridlock. I can't stand going 100 MPH is typical for me, which augments travel times.
I've used it for years and love it. It even works as a plaintext HTML editor! With an FTP client and some way to connect, you've got a mobile web publishing tool as well.
I recently installed PDA Traffic onto my Visor Prism w/VisorPhone for my once-a-week commute from Federal Way to Bellevue and back... It's been working great -- when I use it.
Last week I didn't use it because I assumed that I-90 would be the best route, as it usually is, but I was wrong... there were multiple accidents and I-405 was actually the better route!
The Unreal Tournament 2003 Mutant game mutator (mode) is sort of like that...
The current mutant has all powerups and glows a translucent purple, but loses health continuously until (s)he makes another kill. All players can be killed with one hit.
It's really a lot of fun! Sadly, there are very few servers running the Mutant game mutator.

Dark Horzons: Lore is an up-and-coming Action Mech game (not a simulation like Mechwarrior).
It currently runs in Win32 & Mac OS X and the Client will run [without crashing] on Linux as soon as the installer is ready, which should be Any Day Now(tm).
Here's a quote from the page:
Created by independent game developers, Max Gaming Technologies, Dark Horizons: Lore is set in the Dark Horizons Universe in the mid 22nd century. Lore throws you in control of the worlds most advanced weapon system during the conflicts between the Federated States and Eastern Confederation. Remote pilot vehicles like the AR-16b Hunter mechanized assault vehicle or the ECM-74 Juggernaut tank in explosive multiplayer action.
Crammed with fast-paced, extreme action, Dark Horizons: Lore puts you in command of the 22nd century's finest achievement, the Mechanized Assault Vehicle, or MAV. Remotely piloted from control pods located halfway around the globe these giant war machines are bristling with the latest plasma rifles, cannons and missiles. Pilot a single MAV or gain experience and take command of a MAV group or even an entire battalion and fight with your friends as a unit.
a) they took over from AT&T, raised prices, forced you to get CATV or pay even higher rates (42.95/45.95 with CATV or 60.95 or 63.95 without)
I have had Comcast Cable Internet for more than a year and have never been forced to have CATV. I don't want it. I get mailers now and then, but I just throw them away.
b) have little to no competition in the broadband market, especially at the speeds they offer (now 3mbs in most, if not all, areas)
I use a Handspring Visor Prism with the VisorPhone module. It's running PalmOS 3.5 and I can and do maintain a GSM network connection when switching between apps. And when I switch back to my browser from another app, the last page I was looking at is still there and I don't have to reload.
The only application I can think of where I lose a connection is upIRC.
I asked the developer, Brian Smith, about this and he said that he couldn't keep it connected because of the nature of IRC networks. They apparently ping the clients to ensure that they are still connected and if the application is not active, it can't respond to the pings.
I think the same is true of the IM networks.
Since receiving Brian's response I have wondered if he could patch a trap in the OS and basically hook some tiny responder into the OS so that it could stay connected.
The same can and has been done for the IM apps.
It's called VeriChat.
One time I accidentally low-level formatted the wrong hard drive. I wanted to do the 1st (Primary) hard drive and the BIOS started it's drive enumeration at zero. So of course without thinking I put in a 1 instead of a 0.
I think the most important thing that was on it was my collection of digital music that I had spent over 1.5 years downloading from random FTP sites (this was before Napster) via a 28.8 and later a 56k modem.
Fortunately, a friend had a recent copy of my music from our recent LAN party.
SkyNet GNU/Linux is small distribution of GNU/Linux designed for embedded devices such as the Soekris boards. Its targeted specificly as a gateway for community wireless projects such as The Tacoma Wireless Community Network and similar projects like SeattleWireless. With some modification, it should be easily adaptable as a general purpose router, an inexpensive home based wireless access point, or a drop in solution to building temporary mesh networks.
Software Testing/Quality Assurance is supposed to perform this function.
The problem is often insufficient tools.
The company I work for as a Software Test Automation Specialist is looking at WorkSoft Certify and we like what we see, except the price-point (approximately triple our current tool: Rational Robot), however, that is currently in negotiations.
I'm curious why this is rated Redundant when there are no other comments in this particular story that mention the Neuros?...probably just some rabid Apple appologist with mod points...

...how geeks meet other geeks.
It doesn't get better than WordSmith from BlueNomad on a PalmOS PDA.

If only I had consulted the all-knowing PDA...
And we all still get to pay for it, too.

Usurper and Barren Realms Elite were amongst my favorites, too.
And of course TradeWars 2002 mentioned in other threads was fun.

Check it out.
Just thought I'd point out two things...
I have had Comcast Cable Internet for more than a year and have never been forced to have CATV. I don't want it. I get mailers now and then, but I just throw them away. My service is not 3mb/s. It's about 1.7mb/s.You're spreading FUD here...
M$ purchased 24,642,681 A shares + 21,243,691 B shares and there are approximately 2,250,867,052 total shares available (Market Cap / Trading Price).
So, M$ owns 2% of Comcast (45,886,372 / 2,250,867,052).
I don't pretend to be a day trader, but this is my understanding of the numbers.
DAMNIT! My eyes!!!
Pic is definitely NSFW.

Good thing they're not actively monitoring the proxy logs at my work any more...
Yep, they have instead done everything to maximize damages, but this will backfire in court.
IANAL

Kind of like how most modern consumer electonics devices have smart chargers that stop charging the battery when it's full?
I know my Neuros works that way.
It's also damaging to fully discharge NiMH & LIon batteries.
I've seen this in use and it's quite impressive.
Here's some info copied right off the main page:

Planned obsolescence.
Neuros DataBase Manager is a cross-platform Open Source Java GUI for the Neuros.
It's very good. I use it exclusively.
I bought the 20GB/128MB Combo and love it!
Just one quick clarification though, the 128MB backpack is actually simply a battery. All the 128MB of memory is inside the grey DSP unit.
There has been talk of CF adapter backpacks though. Either official or DIY.

What the?!?
Is this the Scientists version of the Chewbaca Defense?
