Yes, because it's Americans that are being screwed. They whine all day that it's *their* liberties being shafted, but they don't give a crap when it's other foreign nationals.
I've been driving under my wife's supervision for two years, have recently taken some lessons before I take my test (finally), and moving to a 'modern' car has been a nightmare. Everything is controlled, or powered, and it's taken some time to master it after driving a 'normal' car for so long.
On the plus side, I've been told I drive better than most people who've passed their test....
It should be, "Dear Slashdot, I am looking for free versions of the above because I am a tightwad. I have used the phrase Open Source so that you publish my submission and geeks will flock to it"
Providing it supports the 802.16 spec as it currently stands, it will allow the integration of 802.11 networks, and the support already exists at the MAC layer...
I can't find too much info on that site about how they're utilising the features of wimax, but since they only seem to be offering symmetrical 512k, they're missing the best bits....
Yes, hire IT people to trawl through every file in a University's webspace, and check whether it should be there or not.... Do you have any idea how big the average Uni's web space is? And how little of it actually means anything to the average IT guy? Quantum physics isn't my thing....
When I bought it up
brought Windows home and tried to boot it up.
But when I load it up,
it says my memory is not enough.
I'll be runnin' out
I need some extra RAM to fix it up
I have to cough it up
Open my wallet up - it never stops never stops...
This is Windows 95
It's sucking up my drive
It makes a Pentium fly
But my PC is obsolete
I'll have to buy myself a brand new machine
Stick me up
You suck me in and then you got me hooked
There is so much stuff to buy
I need a new hard drive
It's gonna suck me dry
My 386
don't have the speed
It takes an hour just to bring it up the screen
Oh, no, I'm making software buys
It's making B*ll G*tes come
Yo, you make a rich man come...
Can someone explain why this is called 'viral' marketing? Seems more like the hype machine at work more than anything else. That thing with the BBC and wikipedia made me wonder the same thing.
It took me more than 10 hours to build, and i didn't video it, but guys, you can buy these in damn near every LEGO store in the UK.... and probably the US too..... the Death Star is out soon....
Whilst we are not commenting on the proposed closure of the cult site, could we clarify a point made in a quote from one of the users of the website? The quote is question is " I mean, 700,000 hits a month, the second most popular BBC site"
The bbc.co.uk/cult does have 700,000 unique users a month, however this does not mean it is the 2nd most popular BBC website. Indeed some bbc.co.uk sites get 700,000 hits in a few hours. The Cult site came second in the BBC's Online Audience Appreciation Survey, which was voted by users of the bbc.co.uk, which is where I believe a misunderstanding has occurred.
We appreciate the opportunity to clear up this misunderstanding and to assure you that we are listening to the feedback given to us.
Nowhere in the article does it highlight the reason the server was taken, which can eventually be found buried in the links, but the response by Indy is:
"As the G8 summit approaches, threats to our freedom of expression, and action, appear to be increasing rapidly."
So, Indymedia contacted the Police in the firstplace, and now something is being done, they're crying about it.
Doesn't this guy have anything better to do with his time? Tick list for the day: 1. Bash Microsoft. 2. Eat Breakfast 3. Bash Microsoft 4. Post to alt.obsessive.nerds etc etc
I've noticed. I remember when I installed Windows 95 from 3 1/2" disks a couple of years ago. Those disks still worked in 1999, most floppies we buy now last a week if we're lucky.
I've lost count of the number of 5 1/4" floppies that i've pulled data from in the last few years. I work in education, and our departments have boxes of the things, mostly outdated, but now and again someone will find something that needs to be read. The disks themselves are fine.
Actually, you don't. Throughput on a wireless connection is never more than 50% of the total medium, and even then you'd be lucky to get 22.5Mbps...

ROT13 is *encoding* not encryption.

My bad, I was looking at ripwave. Breeze seems better. There is another success story in the UK: http://skylink.telabria.com/

Also, the latest version of Yahoo's toolbar *does* work.

So your saying that it's perfectly okay to vandalise things to make yourself heard?
