    It makes me wonder if the reason for VA's stock taking a nosedive is that investors saw this site and the unprofessional conduct of the operators and realized they were dealing with something that would never make a profit for them.

    Some people Hate just because they are mean and evil.
    Terrorism may be an act of hate, but there is no ignorance behind much of it. It's a cold calculated method of getting a point across. If you think the people behind these acts are ignorant you have some waking up to do. They know exactly what they are doing. The actual perpetrators of the acts may be clueless fucks, but those behind it may be.

    It would be better said that Hate is caused by Fear.

    I would like to see them go after whomever set the system up for negligence. Somebody posted parts from an earlier article stating that the security wasn't activated because they were "testing" the system, Bullshit.
    Somebody fucked up, and this loser trying to make a name for himself had his stupid publicity stunt backfire on him.

    Wireless system for a courthouse $5000, right.
    Um I'm willing to bet, depending on how many nodes we are dealing with, that the cards for the workstations/notebooks cost more than $5000.
    We aren't talking about Linksys or NetGear. Probably some Motorola or CISCO solution, with the additive "hey it's the government add 50% to the cost."
    No the $5000 was most likely for the consultants rape fee for investigating the problem.

    Total Sausage Fest. But what could you expect.
    4 out of the 5 that rsvp'd showed, The place scheduled for the meetup had been renamed. So i wonder if that was a factor.
    Seriously though. Met some cool guys, drank some beers, talked geek and made some money. No shit, when I left the bar there was a wad of bills sitting one parking space away from my car. $58 so I actually came out ahead on the deal.
    Some poor drunk is being beat up by his wife for losing the grocery money as I type.
    Chris, the web guy, the other guy that had to leave for work (sorry I'm real bad with names) Good time! see you at another one.

    Many of the H1B holders that i work with feel the same way you do. they are damn thankful that they are able to take care of thier families back home.
    We have people that work in corporate cleaning that come up here from mexico and work 2-3 jobs a day for a year so they can live well in thier home country for a few years.

    Interesting... Have you tried looking out of your area or taking a job different from your previous job?
    I've been consulting full and part time for the past 10 years with only one week out of work.
    Sure i've had to take less than desirable jobs to get in somewhere till somethig better showed up. But I never blamed it on others.
    I just recently got renewed for a contract that i work 3rd shift in 2nd level support and do absolutely nothing if a problem doesn't occur. I've been at it for 3 years. I had to move my family 100 miles but it's all good.
    They hire H1B's here as well but i haven't seen anyone who was willing to work around here (midwest) go without a job for too long.
    Broaden your horizons.

    No it's not a sad reality. What I was obscurely getting at is most Adults that attempt to continue their education don't have time for all the fluff thats involved with the university scene.
    They are too busy living life, raising kids, etc.
    I realize now that the parent of my comment was trolling, but there's no room that other stuff when brightest part of you day is figuring out how a 2.5 ft tall 2yr old managed to get cookies off a 4 ft counter.
