I would disagree. I listened to both "Christian" music and pop music in the late 80's.
My main reason for listening to Christian music was not to be kewl, it was because alot of the music of the day went against my beliefs, plain and simple. A lot of other people felt the same way. I would also attribute the rise of country is the 90s for the same reason.
>Those who really like Rock, Metal and Rap consider the "Christian" variants to be laughable at best, pathetic at worst.
Yes, all "Christian" artists suck and have no talent.::sigh:: Yes, Christian music started behind and as a whole will probably always will be behind(except for a few genres). But there are some excellent artists that are as good as you will find.
But if you can get past the message there is some good stuff out there.
I wouldn't even allow 100 per month, maybe 10 times a month. Or even completely offline altogether.
Better get some great insurance, I wouldn't want someone to have their 1850's relatives diary destroyed and then find out that I also lost their only digital copy!
I agree, but if you had the money and not a lot of time but enjoyed playing these types of games...it might be worth it to buy the char instead of spending all that time building him up.
But I would guess MS could flaunt their breaking of the GPL, or through other means, that the FSF would be either baited or feel like it had to go to court to save face.
I would make some program include some GPL stuff and let it be known that it contains GPL code. Force the FSF's(or whoever's) hand and go to court on your terms. Duke it out once and for all.
If you lose, give out the source code to a program you never cared about anyway. If you win it would strike a serious blow to the GPL.
Either this is someone who fails to see the humor in the initial post(which is quite funny i might add), or morphin3's post is a joke that's not very funny.
>Should I cease to voice my view, just because the discussion comes up again, even in a different context?
No, you should cease your voice because you are wrong. It is next to impossible(time and money wise) to do what you ask and would be a legal nightmare.
And RMS will be muttering: "those fools, those fools, if only they understood what the GPL was about"
ummm, RMS believes selling proprietary software is unethical. I think MS, SUN , and IBM know exactly what it is all about. Love it or hate it the GPL would ruin MS and severely hurt SUN and IBM, along with a whole bunch of other software shops.
hmmmm... I have actually shredded my credit cards and have one debit card used for gas and internet purchases.
Cash makes the perfect budget, can spend what you don't have.
Just remember I think it is Sears that makes more money on financing than they do selling stuff. My understanding is that this is becoming the norm.
Yes, I know my post if offtopic.
blizzard.com has been slashdotted
think before you start calling people idiots.
Why the hell would anyone want to emulate SNES on a Gameboy?
Is Allegiance any good?
> why is Christian music special in that I should overlook its message any more than he should overlook the message of other pop?
:-) offensive to you?
Because many times the pop music is offensive to me. So I choose not to listen.
The question is: Is Christian music with it's lyrics(not the music
If it is, then don't listen to it.
If the lyrics are irrelevant to you, or at least if Christian lyrics are irrelevant to you, then there may be some artists who you would really like.

Why Christians games?
Quite simply the more games mature the more "adult" they become.
They same has happened with books, movies, and music.
Christian music is not what it is today because it has Christian lyrics, it was started as a clean alternative to the music of the day.
If mainstream music stayed "clean", Christian music would never have become so popular it may never have even been a seperate category.
The same will happen will books, movies, and computer games over time.
Computer games have slowly "matured" where it is not uncommon to have swearing, adult topics, etc, etc.
Christians don't desire to have "Christians" games(or any other type of media) so much as games that don't go against their moral beliefs.
Sorry for the disjointed post.
Has there been any studies taking the temp of other planets over a period of time?
I would be interesting to see what kind of cycles other planets in the solar system follow and if earth follows them in any way.

"Personally I think it's great that they recognize talented individuals and reward them well."
Oh yeah, that's going to go great around here...
Well said. Every one in while an intelligent response is given to a serious question here on slashdot without arrogance and flaming. Thank you.
Now about your user id...
Just curious, you at work?
So you love plan9 and hate milk eh?
Computer?
I wouldn't spend a $1 on any char(unless i could resell), because I have neither the time or money to be playing these games.
But if I was young, single, and had extra money I would consider.
I agree, but if you had the money and not a lot of time but enjoyed playing these types of games...it might be worth it to buy the char instead of spending all that time building him up.
Oh I don't doubt the MS will comply with the GPL, at least until they want to.
Remember the goal of GPL is basically to exterminate the MS-like business plan: the selling of proprietary software.
Eventually, MS is going to have to confront the GPL and hope to invalidate it in court.
At least that is my opinion.
You are correct, the FSF wouldn't have to.
But I would guess MS could flaunt their breaking of the GPL, or through other means, that the FSF would be either baited or feel like it had to go to court to save face.
Or why doesn't microsoft do the opposite?
I would make some program include some GPL stuff and let it be known that it contains GPL code. Force the FSF's(or whoever's) hand and go to court on your terms. Duke it out once and for all.

Of course maybe they are too afraid of losing.
Why? The processing power they have is close to the CPU.
You are making us 30 year olds look old and bitter. Or maybe it's just you.
btw your favorite favorite turn based strategy game is?
About a 2,800 sq ft home, with 3/4 acre. Large oak trees, dogwoods in bloom.
I have a small strawberry and black raspberry patch. And a garden with beans, squash, and tomatoes.
Work? Software company 10 minutes away, one stop light.
110K is what I paid.
Sorry, there has to be some benefits of living in small town TN. I am sure there are other benefits of living in silicon valley or boston.
How is this interesting?
