    Actually, the later episodes are quite good. It would seem to me that you find them boring because they're not a "Gaming Comic" anymore.

    With no "In jokes" left to get, you have a hard time relating to the episodes.

    BTW, if anyone from Red vs Blue is reading this, I think your stuff is great. "A Message to the Scientific Community" is a personal favorite.

    I've never seen any kind of situation like this. It's always been "You will put in 20 hours of overtime a week and we don't care if you like it."

    My point is MySQL has a subset of tools that are all available under Oracle.

    So, technically, there's no reason not to get Oracle.

    I looked for the free version of Oracle. Where is it? I could only find the 5000$ version.

    That's a lousy qualifier.

    I can't give you a good technical reason why I'm not running Oracle for my little 3 table website database.

    Only financial.

    I can easily think of a reason to go from Oracle to MySQL.

    1. You don't have a database that needs Oracle.

    2. Therefore downgrading will save you fat sacks of cash.

    I've known someone who was fired for choosing Oracle. They suck an enormous amount of money into the project and it was far more database than they needed.

    The disks?

    The article mentioned clustering PCs and having the entire database stored in memory. With 12 PCs running Opterons, that's 192GB of memory storage space.

    And if that's not enough, then you need to consider a serious upgrade.

    Yes it was the Jewish mothers and fathers fault. They let themselves become disarmed and led away to concentration camps. They were responsible for their family, and then they handed that responsibilty over to someone else. Oops.

    Same thing happened in Rwanda. The UN came in and said "We'll protect you." Oops.

    Again, YOU are responsible for the safety of your family. The moment you hand that over to someone else, you are putting the lives of your family into someone elses hands.

    A three inch wide cable vs. a 1 centimeter wide cable was enough improvement for me. I can now RAID 4 drives in the system and not have to fight a barrier of ribbon cables.

    Although trying to get Promise SATA RAID working under linux is a pain.

    Unless you have a lot of time on your hands, and you're planning on using RAID5 with 4 drives, don't get the Promise S150 SX4 card!

    Yes, getting another country to further your goals at their expense is an efficient use of resources. Just don't sit there and bitch when they don't do things the way you believe they should be done.

    One of my pet peeves is that the word 'Genocide' has been watered down by the media.

    And the people responsible for the lives of those children are called "Parents". What did they do to stop this?

    When the world comes to your door to kill you and yours, and you fail to prevent it, then it's your failure. You, and only you, are the protector of your family.
