I don't understand. The US went into Iraq without the blessing of the UN. Anyone could of done the same with Rwanda.
And why does the US have to be the only country people turn to when things go really bad? Do you think it's a good idea of the US to stick itself in the middle of a civil war?
It's amazing that the US has the power to sign the death warrant for those 800k people. And all the countries of the world stood by and did nothing. So were they helpless bystanders, or acting in their own interest? The key phrase here is "The selfish actions of your government"
I'm trying to find a link where the US vetoed that UN security resolution, can you provide a link?
And finally, there is no US government, not the way you picture it. The military and the government is run by the people. So, you're asking ME to go to Rwanda and put myself and my fellow countryment into a civil war. I would vote against it also. Who do you think you are? Insisting that I put my life on the line for these people?
One of the MANY good reasons for the US not to ratify the land mine treaty. Last time I checked, the US keeps track of where it places it's land mines, and when that area no longer needs to be mined, cleans it up!
Land mines are just too useful for the US to give up. It's too bad about those countries that use them irresponsibly.
There's a legal battle going on in the US dealing with consealed carry laws. Many states have realized that they can not prevent you from carrying a consealed gun. The exceptions seem to be the most heavily populated areas. Chicago, New york and the like.
Considering that the police are under no obligation to protect you, I see this as a good thing.

Woah, that means Buckyballs would make a great diet pill!
Yeah, there's no way to fight against THAT kind of menance.
I'll just wait here for those tyranical government agents to come and break down my door and haul me away....
Any minute now......
I'm sure they just have a heavy workload. So I'll leave a note on my door letting them know what times I'll be in the house.
ANYWAY. What the original poster was pointing out is that you can hold all the peace rallies you want. The only way to get rid of a tyrant is by naked force. And by naked force I don't mean soldiers out of uniform.
Because of the state of the economy, I ended up working a lot of part-time jobs. And during the summer I worked with teachers. Why were they working? Because they were bored, and could use some play money.
If it wasn't for the politics teaching would be a dream job.

How do you know they did not deserve to die?

Hey, I'd like to have a few people tortured in Syria. How do I get started on this?

I'm rich!
Yeah, those would be great examples...if any of those were tyrannies.
What benchmark will run at a different speed if run twice on the same system?
How did you determine this?
Ooooo. Help help! I've been branded a terrorist!

Ever hear of inflation?
25 billion in 1963 dollars is 143 billion in 2002 dollars.

That's funny. I was having an 80's flashback.
Strawberry Shortcake to be specific.
What good is that when you can't get hired on as a technician?
A better way of saying it (In my mind) is that 30 years ago, there were only 21 million college grads, now there's over 72 million.
I don't care how hard you study nursing. You've either got breasts, or you don't.
I can't find anything on MythTV's page about encoding Mpeg-4. How do you do it?
ok, ignore that. I misread the ad. You can do the 300$ OR the 12.95 subscription.
But I still hate mail in rebates. They're eeevvviiil.
No, you can't get a TiVo for as low as 150$.
First, and most important, they make you buy a 300$ lifetime subscription.
Second, there's a 50$ mail in rebate.
If you still insist that the TiVo is 150$, then fine. I'll put down 150$ and you can pony up with the rest of the money.
If you spend all day dealing with computer problems, why would you go home to deal with more computer problems?
This is why I'm getting a Tivo. I'll hack it, but I don't want to deal with computer problems.
I get enough of those from my computer.
60% is a strain?
Are you kidding? It's a government project.
Here's a long article in "The New Yorker" about how one journalist went to Saudi Arbia to teach the journalists there.
http://www.lawrencewright.com/art-saudi.html
Shows you what Saudi life is like. It's a bit on the long side, but very interesting.
It doesn't matter. China will be doing this, and you can't stop them.
So you can sit there and say "It's too dangerous" while the Chinese claim the solar system, or we can meet them there.
Ahh. Yes, I've used Excel myself for small projects like that. But it seemed to be the electronic equivalent of a pen and paper.
I imagined something more complex, from what you were talking about.
Privacy is dead. Get over it.
You only pull from one site at a time? How strange.
