  1. Re:Nintendo probably tried to take advantage of MS on How Microsoft Tried To Buy Nintendo · · Score: 1, Interesting

Wouldn't this idea make more sense if you turned this around? Nintendo didn't try anything new. It was Microsoft that entered new ground in the console market.

And I don't have the barcode scanner. So I hooked up my Cue:Cat instead.

It's good to see that someone has actually found a practical use for that damned thing.

Are you trying to be funny? Or did you actually mix up the names PS/2 and PS2 (Playstation2). Please, don't post if you don't understand the subject... BTW- USB sucks, 1384 is in

  4. Re:What a crock on Microsoft's Guide to Accepting Donated PCs · · Score: 1

This is the exact reason why computer science majors get free Microsoft software via MSDNAA. Basically, they're trying to get the next generation of software engineers hooked on their OS and tools - it's a good strategy. But I'm not complaining...I got Windows XP Pro and Visual Studio 6 legally without paying a dime.

I still dual boot with a section of my harddrive partitioned to Red Hat 7.2. Microsoft wont win me over, no matter what they give me.

Does anyone else know where I could find Kazaa lite?

  6. Games that aren't just visually realistic on Is Realism Destroying Video Games? · · Score: 1

I strongly agree. You can't compare the fantasy games and the ones that emulate the real world.

But I've seen the trend shift in a new direction. Realism isn't just about the graphics, it's about freedom. I guess that the freedom to play a game the way they feel is much more appealing than linear gameplay, and not just for replay value either. Freedom gives the player a chance to be creative. This IMHO is the reason why The Sims and Grand Theft Auto 3 are so popular among the gaming community.
