  4. Re:Looks sucktastic- on Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Trailer · · Score: 1

You are correct, it never mentions ethnicity of Ford but it does say he's from the town of Guildford in Surrey.
**news flash: not everybody in britain is white!
(Actualy, the only thing DNA mentions as being white is the Heart of Gold)

Now this to me implies that he's (pretending to be) originally from Guildford. If so, why the hell does he have an american accent?

Anyways, after acutally seeing the trailer i can understand why he was cast.
Not so much as a "token" but more as a likeable "MTV type" personality to offset the otherwise overwhelming geek-factor of this series.

I just noticed that the time arthur woke up was 7:42..

Surprised it was an alarm clock and not his digital watch..

  6. Re:3Com's history on 3com to Compete with Cisco · · Score: 1

This is actually a VERY important point that people need to remember. I too was completely burned by 3com "changing direction" and killing their entire line of enterprise switches, and offering no extended support either. They have done it 3 times since as well. I'm surprised how quickly people seem to forget about this. Another important thing to take into consideration as well is the recent shift away from access routers towards layer 3 switches and wan switching. Lets face it, love them or hate them, cisco isnt going anywhere for a while.

(barf!) The "New XP look" was the "straw that broke the camel's back" for me. Its hideous! It looks like a mall kiosk for retarted 7 year olds! :) I run mandrake at work and at home. Once in a while i dual boot to windows at home for some audio apps because i havent saved up enough to buy a mac and run OSX yet and nobody has really written a GOOD set of audio tools for linux (yet) As far as games? Consoles are better! (except for the xbox)

  15. How many false positives are on this?? on Toronto, The Naked City · · Score: 1

I live in toronto, and i must say that looking at this map is quite shocking. Then i sat down and really started looking at it, and i made an interesting observation. Most of the really HIGH concentrations of red markers are in RETAIL districts where there are alot of stores with POS systems, shoplifting prevention, motion detectors and store security. Most of these stores probably don't actualy have wireless networks, but have plenty of other things that might generate an rf signal that could be mistaken as a wireless network.
