  7. whats the advantage again? on Safari 3 vs. Firefox 2 and IE7 · · Score: 1

I have both mac and PC at home, and even on my mac i still run firefox over safari.

I am not a web dev so i couldnt give a rats ass about coding standards. I just want a browser that works with everything that gives me control over what pages i want to allow acive content with.
For me that is firefox with NoScript and AdBlock.
I remember trying safari when i first got my mac and being complely unimpressed with it.
I do like the idea of a lightweight broweser, but if it has no tolerance for sloppy coding then i will just have to switch browsers anyways to to to the page i want.

For me, safari being ported to windows is just as useless as internet exploiter ported to mac.

After playing other MMOG's like Everquest and FFXI and having to go through the living HELL that is "Content Patch Day" and having to fight for bandwidth to get my updates, a torrent based patch solution makes more and more sense.

The only think i can think of is that some ISP's have filters in place to identify all torrent traffic and either block it, or report it to Anti-P2P networks so that they can DoS your IP.

  24. Re:Driver or hardware? on ATI Announces 512MB Graphics Card · · Score: 2, Interesting

EQ2 and WoW are both extremely taxing on video hardware and should be benchmarked on these tests. Lets not kid ourselves, FPS shooters are not the be-all and end-all of gaming technology. If ANYTHING is going to make use of that extra texture memory its going to be MMOG's due to the fact that you are dealing with 3000+ players per server. In high population areas it would be easy to have on screen 80+ mob's (players and npc's) each wearing something different, and setting off different spells and effets. I think it would be extremely EASY to do comparison testing by having 2 identical machines logged into the same area in either a high populaiton zone (Auction house) or in the middle of Tauren Mill/Southshore during a PVP raid. World of Warcraft has a hotkey built into the game already for toggling the FPS, and 3rd party capture programs such as FRAPS can also do the same thing for other games that dont have a FPS counter like FFXI.
