I'm pretty sure he meant of the ~25MB complete movie, not the samples or tests on the main page. I wish people would set this stuff up before they submit to slashdot, and make torrents/coralization part of their post so that we can actually all get to it.
what ever happened to women with waists that are 2/3 of their chest/hips measurements being considered attractive? Nowadays most of the generally accepted as attractive "women" have bodies like rules. Straight up, straight down. 36-24-36 baby! Not 32-28-32. Yech.
yeah, it's real hard to wrap your head around, heh. I was going to give a long ass explanation about trying on clothes, etc, but I doubt you'll read it. I doubt you'll read this. You obviously haven't thought it through anyhow.
like I said, do you go to The Gap and say "here, I have $100, give me some clothes." And just stand there until they come back and give you one sock with a rip in the heel, a pair of jeans with no zipper, and a shirt with only one arm hole, and say "Thanks!" and walk out smiling?
you know it, I know it, we all know it. If you tried to convince anyone that most people are thieves, you would just get laughed at. I download shit all the time. If it's good, I go buy it. If it sucks, I nuke it and never think of it again. This goes for music, movies, games, applications. Think I'm a thief for downloading before I've paid, good for you. I could care less what you think. If it's good, the people that were supposed to get my money first do get it after the fact anyways. No way in hell would you go to a clothing store, say here's my $100 for some clothes, and just accept whatever they go and get for you from the back.
but it's not the exact same thing, there are performance differences. And some people are more than willing to pay for more performance. That aside, you invalidated your argument with your 'reduce your costs' statement. If someone else is making a *comparable* product for cheaper than you are, then there is something that needs to be taken care of in your organization. Even when that's not the case, there's no reason to be selling your stuff at a loss just because the other guy is undercutting you, and then complaining about it. You chose to make hard drives. You chose to sell them for less money than you should. Don't complain about what you chose to do. If you can't make money making hard drives, quit making hard drives because you obviously aren't proficient at it.
bah, if you're selling your product for less than you ought to be, that's nobody's fault but yours. This is exactly what makes me shake my head when I see hard drive manufacturers complaining about not making enough money. Well, sell your damn product for what it's actually worth, instead of selling it for way less than it should be sold for. Personally I wouldn't go make something at a cost of $10 and sell it for $5, but that's just me.
after recently getting glasses I started asking around if anyone I knew had this done, or if any of their friends did. Surprisingly, or maybe not, I only found one person. I didn't ask around a lot, as I wasn't seriously considering it since I had only just got my first pair of glasses ever, and my eyes may still change more. Anyways, this person said night vision was definitely reduced, but what I found interesting was they said sometimes it feels like he's got sand in his eyes.
but, wasn't decss possible only because one software player left its key out in the open? Seems to me you'd need to get hold of one of those special players if you were going to crack their partner discs.
"The MoonCrash Project would probably be attractive to some bored rich guy, who is tired of playing with his radio-controlled model airplanes and wants to move up to the next level."
I fail to see the relevance of this statement, unless you get to control the thing, which makes no sense.

there's a fair bit of "music" these days that has a lot more bass content than those old bass CDs, rather than a "bass CD" just to have bass. There was that "oooh" factor back when those discs first came out, but they're anything but listenable music. Check out something like The Crystal Method's Tweekend album if you want something that's listenable and has enough bass to show off any system, more than a lot of those bass CDs at that. There's tons of other stuff out there too, lots of good music with tons of bass, and those old "bass CDs" should be buried forever:)
uh, no, both are capable of DC output, what's wrong with you? Getting 10Hz out of vinyl (turntable rumble doesn't count:P) would be quite the feat, especially with anything other than a pure 10Hz test tone containing no other frequencies.
if you can crack it open, there is probably a single adjustment in it, which with a bit of adjustment while watching the playback may just turn it from dust collector to useful piece of equipment. The one I have only has one adjustable control inside anyways, and I needed to fiddle with it a bit before it was working as I figured it should. Worth taking a look inside it anyways.

12:00 PM eh? That'd be an interesting trick. All the ones I've seen blink 12:00 AM when first plugged in.
magnet would be nice, with ed2k I'm liable to get it by next month, heh.
up to a point. doesn't even respond here now.

that's a special case. they also make money off of the other products needed to make the first product useful in the first place.
