I've had my cell phone since 1997. During that time I've had Zero solicitations and of course I dont get screwed by the local Bell. The only people who call me who arent my friends are my creditors saying that I missed a payment. I pay it and im done. Since not having a land-based phone I've enjoyed privacy freedom and no hassle billing. Its in my pocket and im not tied to 1 place to receive calls. Now if they can pass that bill so we can keep our phone #s and go to competing subscribers....

So it runs a little bit quieter.. Im not going to fork out 222,000Y . Considering I have about 7 dvd players at home (2 ps2,xbox,PC,Laptop,Sonydvd,Pioneer DVD-LD).

  11. Heres my 100 Yen on Xbox Coming to Arcades · · Score: 1

Start Rant: Arcades in the US are commonplace dead for the most part. Pinball is a dying breed, Arcades are getting there. I have a few arcades in the local area. The most used games which cannot be reproduced are usually the Konami interactive games (Dance Dance Revolution, Beatmania, Guitar Freaks, Drum Mania etc.., All Japanese games I might add). The only other comnmon place arcade get togethers is the 'fighting scene'. Whereas you can cram 25 local fighting people vs cramming them in your own living room. In Japan arcades are as common as your local convenience store. In Metro-Tokyo you cant walk 200 feet before without hittin an arcade. I just think that in America we dont make arcade games like we use to. The more innovative ones come from Japan. Hell I play excellent shooters from Japan as well as these Konami games. As far as xbox.. I just think its just more publicity hoo-ha. Yes I agree I'd love to boot up linux and play TUX-racer on a 80" screen. hehe Personally I'd think booting linux and loading up some emulators would really kick-ass .. Well doing it w/ an xbox already at least on a 48" HDTV. End Rant

  12. its truly great. on Review: Spirited Away · · Score: 1

It came out on DVD in Mid July (region2) and supports 5.1 surround. While I've already seen it it wouldnt be bad to watch it on a big screen. Though I would prefer Japanese (sub) vs English (dub). But nevertheless some astounding graphics, storyline, and music. Im curious to see when disney will ever make this a domestic release on dvd. Im sure for those who cant wait its available on a P2P network near you.

  16. Treo vs. Prism+Visorphone on The Handspring Treo In Real Life · · Score: 1

I currently have used the visorphone for more than 15 months now (Prism+Visorphone). I've had issues now and then where my TCP/IP Stack crashes or I had some issue where my screen looked like tv w/o cable. I just do a hard reset, slap in the backup module and im back up and running instantly. I've been able to sample a Treo in my local Dept. store (Working model). Slapped in my GSM Card and used it for about an hours. Its incredibly light. I do like it somewhat. I found it a bit harder to navigate the menu's. My major issues is that A) It has no module support. If I crash, Game Over. Id have to do a hard reset and run back to my office or home. And B) It doesnt have IR. (Hey I gotta omniremote ) And C) my luxury complaint is no color(for now). In the last /. article where it talked about the debuit of the Treo I cited having the module support to keep downtown at a minimal. I've seen a few people in my local area using the Treo but I havent really talked to them about how works. Side note: Aside of it having a very fantastic battery life and very light. I love its Ultra-Strong Antenna.

I totally agree. I keep my backup module in my pocket. If my prism glitches out i just slap the backup in there and restore.I usually backup at least everyday or after some major data change. Makes it highly convenient without having to run back to the PC or if im travelling w/o a laptop to synch w/. Still smaller ;)
