I happen to be shopping for a house. I find possible matches via a realty site, and then find the house on google maps. I find it really handy to see an actual photo of the house. I can see the neighborhood, the nearby houses, and the general layout of the street and land. I find this really helpful, because often it saves me from driving out and wasting my time.

That's not a fair comparison. Intelligent design cannot _ever_ hope to partake in a scientific discussion, because there's no science behind it, and that's _it_.

Ok, I know I'll get modded through the basement for this, but you absolutely CAN discuss intelligent design in scientific terms. Its not even an argument for religion, but rather observing the world scientifically, and seeing if the facts point to random chance/evolution, or a finely-tuned universe that was designed.

For example, our planet happens to be in a perfect spot in the galaxy to support life. Any farther from the sun and we freeze, any closer its too hot to live. This is just one example of this. Then look at the laws of physics and chemistry. For example, the mass of a proton is the precise value to allow bonds to form so that compounds can exist. Look at water, a substance absolutely vital to life. Its so common we dont think about it, but its very unique. All other liquids contract when they freeze, but water expands. If it contracted, it would be too dense and sink when frozen. This would cause bodies to water to freeze, and prohibit life to exist. I'm just tossing out a couple quick examples here, but you see how we can discuss intelligent design and talk directly of science.

That why I was thrilled to find sites like BoxedArt (http://www.boxedart.com/) where you can download pre-made PSD files (which means you can edit them). Change the colors to your company colors and youre done. They even sell distinct designs that only 1 person can buy, but obviously you pay more for those layouts.

Second, I can also chime in here and state that I am evaluating Silverlight and Flash/Flex for a production web application with a deadline of January.

I came from no experience with either technology. I am a .net c# developer. I completely built the application first on Silverlight 1.1 in one month. It works great. I then built a portion of the application in Flex just to learn both technologies. I can say that doing it in C# was way more intuitive and natural, and FAST. The xaml and everything was easy to learn. Now flash/flex was not as intuitive at all, and was harder to learn. Once I learned it, I thought it was OK, but I do prefer Silverlight. Granted, thats probably because I'm a .net developer already. But I just found silverlight easier, even for just creating the graphics. Also, realize I am an experienced Photoshop user, so you would think I would like the flash tools better.

So to sum up: - Why were these people evil enough to deserve death? Because they didn't worship god. - What makes that evil? Because god says so, and god is good. - How do we know god is good? We have no right to ask that question.

By definition, God is good. Therefore, anything apart from him is evil. God laid out his rules, and if people dont want to live by it, then it is His right to punish them. Notice, though, he never takes away free will. We know God is good based on His nature, and what He has done for us, and yes, what was written in His Word. Remember, he came and lived with us on this earth to show his love and to take the place of our punishment. When the Israelites sinned, they were to kill an animal as a symbol of the punishment they were to receive. This was foreshadowing to what Jesus did. He died in place of our sins. God couldnt make it any easier: Accept Jesus as payment for sin, and have eternal life with him. Otherwise, you will have eternal life without him. I mean, God's love is so great that he did that. Why would you choose to fight God? Who are you to question his ways? He created all, and can do as he chooses. He wants nothing more than for everyone to come to know him.

How many places in the OT does god command the jews to wipe out entire peoples, including women and children?

It seems you do not have a grasp on the full context of what was going on here. You see, the people living in that land prior to the Israleties were an evil people. They didnt care to live by God's rules, so God chose to put them to death. He did this by having them killed by the Israel army. Yes, even women and children---the entire group of them were to be wiped out.

And whats more, is who are you to question the actions of the creator of heaven and earth? God can choose to do as he pleases and doesnt need to explain things to you. The truth is that God desires all to come to know and love him. He chose to allow evil to exist in order to give us a true choice and free will. We are not robots, we have the ability to truly love. To have that capability, you must have a choice. The fact is that if you dont want to choose God, you have the option of living apart from him for all eternity. But realize you have the option to choose him and be with him as well.

Ummmm, you cant be a Christian and believe in the theory of evolution. Besides, the idea that humans evolved from another species is ridiculous. If thats the case, if we are just a product of chance, then that renders the value of human life meaningless.
