Hardy har har,
You are funny! (And according to some Insightful too)
I take it you probably a member of the IPCC, very scientific, in the liberal sense. Don't confuse yourself with Einstein, Newton, or Copernicus.
"It's in the tree ring data...wait a minute, I mean the ice core samples, hold it, I mean the satellite data, WAIT...The proof is somewhere here, I just know it!"
Crimes defined as what and by whom? If it is the law of the sovereign nation that they are in at the time, no harm no foul. If it is some collection of laws determined by anybody else, it very well could be a violation of sovereignty. That would be a impeachable offense, in just about ant country I would imagine.
George W. was clearly wrong in what he said at that time.
I agree with your statement about manufacturing, but Clinton's trade agreements destroyed any capability of the US to gain it back.
The article takes me back to the mindset here in the US in the late 60's early 70's. Fun times!
Seriously, are we done yet? If I called for patents on what I created in the past two decades, the hell would be immense. I do not as I call the solutions self evident, just as the patent’s that is being discussed are.
Cripes, I here by call dibs on the patent for extending digits into ones nostril for dried mucus removal.
Software patents. What a joke.
And on that note, If Mr. Taco (or who ever) would please add the pass through of obvious text formating without having to embed HTML gliph's, I would apreciate it.
Then again, with nothing to gain in a public competition/venue, the real hackers worth their salt are holding back.
It's worth more to them to crack the devices later, offering the ability to somebody who would pay them substantial sum of money to sway an election.
If you want to wear a tin foil hat, you might come to think the whole hacking competition was rigged for the benefit of the government...... Nah...
Either way you look at it, it makes the whole event suspect.
Agreed. The Shuttle "Walks Away" from the tower as well. But it really looked like something was amise till miles down range where the rocket looked like it finally jumped onto path.
Assuming things makes an Ass of U and Me
My understanding of law seems Ok, just question the silly ones, and more importantly question the motives of the people creating and imposing them.
I detect a tone of superiority in your post. Your attempt to denigrate myself is precisely why people should and probably do ignore you.
You seem well intentioned, but to me it would appear your intentions have you misguided.
You have no idea who I am or what I have witnessed, you just assume superiority.
Allot of bad people out there probably find their ideals superior to yours.
Can I multi task better than you, probably, but I really do not know.
Being a civil servant does not preclude you from doing silly things; It just grants you thanks from us for jobs well done.
The positive: Judging from the downward looking onboard camera, the vibrations and oscillations I was expecting were minimal at best. Great job!
BUT: The first part of the flight looked like a fight between the booster and the attitude control system. It was some time before the booster settled down. I could see a couple guys talking about it in the launch room. An absolutely visible cant to the bird. Probably gave the RSO the jitters!
Separation: Gads, the booster swung around as planned due to the rockets firing, but the top stage swung around just as quickly. Certainly would want data on that.
"Now you're getting desperate. Even 15% grid loss would be extreme"
I do not think so. A decade ago, someone posted a cradle to grave power grid distribution graph. I would live to find a copy of it again. The striking thing to me was the grid loss. It only makes since given Ohm's law, miles of wire, and many transformers, but I had never considered it before that time. Losses illustrated were between 5% to 50% with 15% being the median.
If you have empirical evidence to the contrary, I very much would like to have it! I have been looking for that graph for a while now.
Nahh... It's all about regenerative braking.
I am just poking fun at the silly statement that "the dirtiest coal plant on the planet [to charge an ultracapacitor], it generates a third of the carbon dioxide of diesel."
That is silly
A diesel hybrid would be da bomb!
I could see ultracapacitor's used there.
"Even if you use the dirtiest coal plant on the planet [to charge an ultracapacitor], it generates a third of the carbon dioxide of diesel.'"
Petroleum diesel C16H34 or C14H30
Coal Errrrrr C with variable trace quantities of S, H, O and N.
Subcritical fossil fuel power plants can achieve 36–40% efficiency. Supercritical designs have efficiencies in the low to mid 40% range, with new "ultra critical" designs using pressures of 4,400 psi (30 MPa) and dual stage reheat reaching about 48% efficiency.
Ideal diesel efficiency of 56%, but lets stay sane, I keep hearing more along the lines of 35% (Probably BS but real numbers have been banished/obfuscated/hidden somewhere)
Factor in 15% to 50% (extreme) grid transmission loss, and (ops) 5% to 10% electric motor loss.
Love the idea of a Ultra Capacitor for a Hybrid, just stop saying silly things. Less CO2, you're funny.
You are the person who presented the $10 drill battery statement, for whatever reason.
Clean Coal Subsidies, really? My whole point is that CO2 is not the problem. Other than the scrubbing that is going on now, we are done. Keep the money, I'll make my own.
You know, I went hunting for CO2 emissions information and came across a Green Peace item stating "deforestation, which is responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions than all the worldâ(TM)s cars, trucks, planes and boats combined"
No, it is because the sites are routinely sabotaged. The fact is in this current political climate, all the dirty tricks claimed to be used by one party, are now being employed in force.
In my world of engineers, many statements made on the dumbscientist.com would drive them nuts because it lack obvious common sense.
I do not know other worlds, but explore often looking for answers.
No it does not, though I made the same mistake when I first read it. It may below the mean at the present time, it is show a recovery.
I do not know at this point who's website dumbscientist.com is, but it excludes, very typically, Maurder Solar minimum / Little Ice age data. I am still going through it.
And are you refuting the fact that water vapor makes up %95 of the greenhouse effect on earth? If so, what percentage does it make up?
You, scientist! Hey I will admit I did not look at your stuff yet, but you just snubbed The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, NOAA, and an individual who compiled raw info.
Buddy, honestly, who reviewed you? You seem very self important at this time.
But Ok, hey I am not a scientist by profession, review the info let me know....
Yeppie, lets all pile on...
If Wind turbines are so economically viable, why are they not in place already? Can I make loads of money with them? Without government subsidies thank you.
Admittedly, the great east coast blackout originated here in Ohio. But, up at the lake there is a lot of electric distribution infrastructure in place as a lot of electric generation takes place there(Nuclear & Coal). This is a good thing for those wanting to place wind turbines.
I picked the electric weed wacker on purpose. I figured if the EV fan boys cannot conquer such a simple device, they certainly should stay away from cars.
I needed one so off I went on my multi-month quest.
I am not expecting miracles here. I understood that the electric version of the weed eater would not have the same power, but the Li-Ion replacement battery costing $100 was the last straw. Li-Ion battery's have a very finite life of around 3 years (Give or take in the chemistry)
Hey, progress may be being made, but this field is far from ripe.
Stating that battery's for a drill costs $10 was just intellectually dishonest.
Earth cooled a degree last year, Satellite images show arctic ice cap growing the last three years, lack of sunspots is pointing to a scary minimum.
The CO2 increase contributes to less than a than 1/2 of a percent increase in green house gasses (do not exclude the largest green house gas, water vapor)
It is very tiring repeating the same facts over, and over.
I feel your pain.
Well, I mentioned several issues
Till the wind farm is up and providing economical electricity, that snub stands.
EV's have lots of issues. Batteries seem to be the largest, particularly here where it will be cold. Hey, it is Ohio.
But I digress, lets start small and doable, right now, find me a good string trimmer for my lawn.
Li-Ion have a limited lifespan and cost a fortune to replace.
As it stands today, I can purchase several cheap (junk) trimmers for the price of a feeble battery string trimmer. A ICE trimmer cost less than the replacement battery of an electric.
PS, wow think of those large wind generator blades covered in ice in gale force winds and 20ft waves.
A very well reasoned response.
Indeed, I cannot see where an electric vehicle fits here in Ohio at all.
80% of our electricity is coal generated.
As I have illustrated before, after all the losses added together, you are just about at the efficiency of a good internal combustion power vehicle.
I do not believe CO2 is causing any problems at all, but for those who do, that EV here would responsible for creating boat loads.
That aside, I would purchase a EV to snub my nose at the oil producing dictatorships on the planet, if a good EV existed.
Truth is even electric (battery) string trimmers suck for the amount of money they cost.
Hardy har har, You are funny! (And according to some Insightful too)

Citizens want "exceptions" too.

There’s equality for you

And sooooo Awesome!!!!!!!!
I lust for one!

No, it is because the sites are routinely sabotaged. The fact is in this current political climate, all the dirty tricks claimed to be used by one party, are now being employed in force.

Obama is not saving anything but his @$$ but that is another discussion.
Make money generating electricity without government involvement burning coal, you bet, no problem.
If the drill answer is not intellectually dishonest, go trim a lawn with your drill, maybe even try driving it down the road.
Yeppie, lets all pile on...
