I submitted one of my sites to Google. I can see in my logs that they have crawled it. While I still don't appear in a search on Google, I am ranked third for the same keywords on Dogpile (Inktomi).
Actually, it is fairly easy to do one's own taxes. But generally, taxes in the US is about "over tax you" and let you try to pay less. There are many things that you can deduct from your gross income to give the appearance of an overall lower income so that you pay less taxes. Retirement funds (especially one out side of your workplace - they take it out of your pay pretax), certain medical expenses, ect. all need to have special attention payed to them at tax time. If you are self employed, doing your taxes is VERY involved, but of course, some folks can then fudge many personal expenses by attributing them to their business and thus not paying income taxes on money spent on particular expenses.
when its all said and done, I have a particularly low tax rate from a combination of being the sole income on the family, having a child, being married and being considered "head of household" (contribute more than 50% of household expenses, and part of my income from being self employed. Though its a pain to do taxes, if I keep receipts organized throughout the year, preparing my tax forms is not as painful as it could be.
I don't intend to alter my content to accommodate spam filters.
Some of us aren't so lucky. The rest of us actually need eyeballs on our newsletters and try to test our content through filters before sending it out. I am consistantly amazed at the little things that flag my newsletter as spam.
But that would mean true collaboration between local affiliates/networks and PVR companies. They can get away with a branding and still images licensing aggreement to allow theme channels (at least with Replay TV) but to aggree to send collaborative data (at least one way - from broadcast point to Replay TV) would be an admission of acceptance of PVRs. PVRs currently suck revenue away from networks and local rebroadcasters who rely upon ads to pay the bills.
I think we have the same remote. I think that it can (with some extra massaging) do everything that your receiver remote could do - provided you have the original remote, available and working.
It controls everything in my house that can accept some sort of IR commands. It will learn any command you can output from your original remote. So if the specific command(s) you are looking for aren't part of the default Oykno entry, there is still hope. I know that the Sony remote doesn't fully control a Replay TV and you need to program 2 or so button commands. If you don't, and you don't have an original working Replay TV remote, there is functionality that you lose with the Replay TV simply from having no access to it.
