    Nothing bad if Sun would have filed for open standard for Java...
    Python, TCL, Prolog and other virtual machine languages are portable to any OS without hassles of certifying by Sun a virtual machine.

    What you cannot run from Linux or OpenBsd?
    V35? X.25 ? Yes you can!
    ISDN? Yes you can.
    And also you can ssh to your router.
    You cannot do that on most CISCOs.

    Yes, if you have A LOT of printers.
    I mean I got Mandrake, for example. Why not leave old plain lpd there by default? I have one or none printer there!

    I hate that CUPS... it's bulky and cumbersome to administer.
    I don't have a network of users usually, for occasional printing it's an awfully complex system.

    180Gb IDE drives. ($300)...
    Buy 5 of these and you have a TeraByte... at home machine.
