Trolling involves insulting, or in your case, condescending remarks by an individual who cannot come up with something informative, interesting or funny. Since my post has been officially ranked 'Funny', that precludes me from being a troll. However, you sir, are a troll. Keep it up.

  6. Re:Maybe naive on Jobs Resists Music Industry Pressure · · Score: 0

But why not cut out the middle-man? We don't need "the music industrie" for on-line music do we?

Actually both the artist AND the consumer need "the music industry" at this time (until the industry changes). The music industry is arguably the largest marketing and distribution machine in the world. Without that the artist(s) will not have the same exposure as they do today. Yes they have the internet, but many people don't go on the internet to hear music that they have never heard before (some do but many don't). Typically they hear a song on the radio or see it on the TV or steaming video... that's all thanks to the music industry.

As you said, if Apple were to take care of the marketing that might be a step in the right direction. A perfect example of this is Walmart and Starbucks. Walmart signed a contract with Garth Brooks allowing them exclusive rights to sell his latest album (and probably more). Starbucks did the same with Alanis Morrisett. In my opinion, it is a brilliant business decision considering they have arguably as much 'reach' as the music industry. The feel-good result of this is that the music industry are probably shitting their pants (that's a lot of lost revenue for them).

So if the 'middle-man' is to be cut out, international businesses will have to step up and take over the marketing and distribution. I find it very hard to believe that an artist who hasn't had any exposure could do it on their own.

Can you be anymore dramatic? I certainly disagree that WoW was designed by racists, for racists. You definitely need to take this as what it is - a GAME. You could make similar parallels with Lord Of The Rings. Was Peter Jackson (who you would paint as a racist) making a movie purely for racists? Is it white power?

    You sir, are moron.

This won't deter me from downloading music. Anything the music associations create (dmca, etc) will be torn down by a 14 year old kid from sweden. What about the artists?? Well I don't give a shit. It's not my fault their music label pays them $1 million dollars before they even release a shitty album. You want my money? Earn it. I'll pay money - if i like you - to see your ass in concert. And don't give me the crap that you don't make money; I read a statistic that christina agulkajlara made 30 million tours alone. Can't live off that? Not my problem. I think she has plenty of food on her table.

Anyhow, bring on the laws b/c there will always be a work-around in the computer world. Don't troll me for saying what everyone else is thinking.

Other than psychological/intimidation tactics, to me it doesn't make sense that they always announce their plans. Once these other countries see what we have in the latest wired article, they are going to develop something similar. Is it me or do they need to STFU?

I honestly don't understand the hype behind the ipod. After doing the research I ended up buying the Dell DJ. Both are simple to use and easy to navigate. The iPod has a better interface, but functionality-wise I think the dj provides the best bang for your buck.

    Price
    Dell DJ (15gb) = $199
    iPod (15gb) = $299
