So if you want your computer to have to ability to say to you, "Sorry, I won't play that MP3 file" or "Sorry, that movie is not authorized for this PC," well step right up.
Well, I'll buy it only if it says those things in that cool HAL 9000 voice...
a) Which do people prefer to read while sitting at their desk in the office -- paper version or online?
b) Which do people prefer to read during their daily commute -- paper version or online?
I know what my answer is to both, and they're both different...
While you're at it, you may as well mention how to boot one machine off the hard drive in another...
After one machine is booted in target disk mode, connect the firewire cable and restart the other machine while holding down the F key. Handy way of using your crappy iBook's home directory in a computer lab that has nice G4s or G5s.
when you are desiging your controls, give us something that we can reach all the buttons without having to move our hands all over the controller
Yeah, I know I have a hard time rolling my thumb from the green button to one of the other three...I have no idea how the fuck you're holding the thing, but it seems pretty straightforward to me...
Exactly. Think of this as the next step up from the GBA link games. Except now you have two screens, one of which is a touchscreen. The Revolution's backwards compatibility with the GC will most likely sell me on one. And the DS's backwards compatibility with the GBA is making me think about getting one of them too...
It has always amazed me that people say "I am going to wait to buy XXXX until they come out with the new one". Buy what you need for the job you need it for...
I'm going to risk blowing a fair amount of karma here and say that a huge bunch of the people that are like this with Apple hardware actually have just about zero real need or use for it. They just like it cos it's new and shiny...
I was told that if I take a hole-puncher to my single sided DVD-Rs that it will make them recordable on both sides. Is that true? I would assume this only works for the ones that have a shiny top and not ones with printing...

Just like the judge smacked down the suit against Oreo cookies making people fat?
:-o
Oreo's can make you fat?!?
Ahhh, but could this be why it wasn't the entire episode that was leaked? They haven't given up the copyright to that...
I heard from our SCO rep that they're non-transferable.
we are not confident where Linux is right now today.
How about right now tomorrow?
Phew! Thanks for telling me. I'll get right on the phone with our MS rep to let them know we'll be renewing that contract...
Targeted advertising? Wow, that Microsoft sure does always seem to innovate...
I guess after a few days of searching you couldn't find the "Eject Disk" item under the Special menu, huh? (this is assuming it was pre-OS X)
I'm gonna get one of those and couple it with my force-feedback mouse...
It is dark. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
How'd you ever figure that out?!?
a special rubber for good click feel, and the distinctive peanut shape.
There's a few good Engrish jokes in there somewhere...
Flat rate for a lot of stuff would appeal to a lot of people a whole lot more.
This would be possible if only one or two media companies owned everything. Too bad things aren't going that direction...
Let's take a small survey and find out:
a) Which do people prefer to read while sitting at their desk in the office -- paper version or online?
b) Which do people prefer to read during their daily commute -- paper version or online?

And the Post is finding that its free paper is doing better than it is.

If by "revealed details about Tiger prematurely" you really mean "distributed prerelease copies over the internet" then I'd say no...

Invest in a baggie of small rubber grommets and use them on every screw
This part can't be stressed enough! Although, you may want to get some of the larger rubber grommets depending on your needs...
I'll recycle my comment from the last /. article on this subject...
summary: use low noise/silent parts in your computer
What will they think of next?!
Don't tell anyone, but I heard that they've figured out a way to put computer data onto, get this, tape!
