It was mentioned in one of the articles I read this morning (forgot the source, sorry). On the Apple site, it looks like only refurbs are available at those prices. That's what I get for quoting the press without checking up on it myself...
Since it has a dock connector, I'm assuming that you just need to get a firewire/dock cable. They more or less ditched firewire as the stock connector when they switched to color screens on the regular lineup a few months ago.
If we were to let the delta rebuild itself naturally, then we would need to let the Mississippi flow where it wants. This means that the entire alluvial plain would need to be vacated. I seriously doubt that's going to happen.
I know because my MO is not to simply try to DESTROY things that I don't understand or don't like. I realize that people (and companies) out there can try to coexist, while still being competitors. Yeah yeah, I know, I'll never be a CEO. Nevermind that I have no desire to be one (I think that many tend to be the scourge of the Earth).
Shit man, I know I don't act that immature at my very worst. Maybe you get like that. You should try to limit the scope of your "just people like us" comments, because not everyone's like that (thank god!).
It was perfectly located to take on large amounts of the shipping around the gulf.
You forgot one minor little part about NO's location. It's on the Mississippi, which, as you may or may not know, is a trickle of a river that cuts all the way up to the Great Lakes. I've heard that for some reason people found this to be fairly important for transporting goods...
Nice one. Link to an article posted on Monday. If you haven't been following the situation, things were actually in fairly decent shape on Monday (as far as areas being smacked by a cat 4+ hurricane go). It wasn't until Tuesday that the levee broke and all hell started breaking loose...
That's why it's called "settling" when someone pays outside of court. It never goes in front of a judge or jury; the evidence is never presented to be weighed on it's merits. The accused are choosing to settle for a few thousand dollars so that they don't run the risk of being shackled with hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines and/or jail time. That's the point of this entire article - it looks like someone is finally standing up to the RIAA and is going to take this to court. Only then will we find out the true value of an IP address...
And this really gets to the heart of the matter. The entire "save the planet" movement is really "save the humans." The Earth will be fine long after we're gone...
The entire Mississippi delta has been formed by the river continuously switching course and spreading sediments over the alluvial plain down there. Had they not tried to lock the river into it's current path, it would most likely be flowing about 50 miles away by now. Trying to tell nature that it's going to work the way human's want it to will always result in disasters like this. And this is said by someone who's parents just lost their house, car, and boat due to Katrina.

Vint Cerf had sex with Al Gore?!? : o
You can get a mini at a reduced price (because it's a discontinued product now). I believe they're $179 and $229.
I am waiting for this admin to announce that unbidded 70 Billion will go to halliburton to clean up NOLA.
Already happened. They've got one of the first contracts.
The nano comes in both white and black (see here and click the "black" link under the picture). Gotta say that it does look pretty nice.

Also, the hurricanes hitting New Orleans will only become more forceful and commonplace.
Do you have anything to back up this statement?
Well, we already know the answer to who (or more precisely, what) posts the articles...

You joke, but the binary format for Carbon apps is Mach-O.
Do geeks really say 'oooooh snap'?
Imaginary?
No worries. Let's just hope that everyone that's been affected gets through this okay...

To late, folks.
*raises glass*
To late!
It's good to see that Taco worked incredibly hard to make Zonk the editorbot in his own image...
Well, that story was dealing with worms, and this one is dealing with viruses, so they're very clearly different stories...
I guess the "Platinum" package would then be rebranded the "Extreme" package, right?
I don't know how far you can walk in 36 hours, but I can guarantee it wouldn't have gotten you far enough...
