Now that HP will have an AAC player, and AOL and HP are using iTMS, it looks like Microsoft's arguments against AAC (ie, no choice in players or sellers) has disappeared faster than pizza left in Cowboi Kneal's cubicle.
I've used Tax Cut the last 3 years. I used to do them manually, but These days, I have investment income/losses (trying to do that from the IRS instructions gave me a headache) and my income is borderline enough that I don't know how much I can contribute to my IRA account, so having the totals update in real time when I try "what if" scenarios for deductions is great.
Some people have complained about the way it's structured, and I slightly agree. It seems to be designed for people that have all their forms and want to sit down for an hour and do it. I probably won't have all my information until the start of march, so I enter it as I get it, so if you do that, you should double check you didn't miss some section.
Usually, you can get Tax Cut for $30, and a 10 rebate, and free (after rebate) copies of MS Money and the state edition. Since I use MS Money, I think it's a good deal.
Most of my investments are boring, dividend paying (4-8%) ones... REITs, banks, utlities, bonds, bond funds, Master Limited Partnerships, oil and natural gas trusts, preferred stock etc. Obviously, individual companies can (and do) miss quarterly earnings, go bankrupt, etc, but most of them are immune from the general market activity.
Nope. I saw the writing on the wall long ago and have been investing my extra cash in various securities (REITs, MLPs, oil/gas trusts, stocks, bonds, etc, US and foreign). I plan to live off investment income within 5 years.
Not only are you a fucking idiot, you're self-contradicting.
You say it's bad for CAlifornia to have too much government, good for India to have a small government, but bad for the US to have a small government (as if).
Why don't you go to your pro-sadaam/anti-war protest and leave us alone.
I'd prefer to see Google sell shares right over the internet through their website, maybe allow you to buy via an online payment service or other immediate means, such as credit card
There are a lot of SEC type problems with that sort of scheme. Being practical, most investors are institutional, mutual funds, etc, not geeks that might buy 1 share. If you want, there are various services that will sell you 1 share, but it usually costs $25-$50 to have the share issued to you.
Regarding blackmail, how so?
Maybe timothy doesn't want the whole world to know what phrases/images he searches for at 3 AM?
if i search for something that's of little commercial value, I don't have a problem. If I search for something that's sold online, google is useless (although froogle is nice if I'm actually interested in buying something).
I like google, but their popularity is a 2-edged sword. On one had, they've got market (and mind) share, and should have a nice IPO soon.
On the other, a cottage industry has sprung up around keywording your site into the top ten. More often than not, most of the results I get are worthless shell sites that redirect you to an online store. Or worse.
If yahoo or MSN can do a better job of preventing this "search spam", they'll get a nice chunk of the search pie.
i think the last time the US lost a mars rover, they did get some photos from one of the mars satellites, but weren't able to identify where it landed.
I don't know how they can be considered a winner. Quite frankly, the only think they have going for them is their logo. Everybody and his uncle is setting up a store to sell WMA downloads, and Steve Jobs has stated that profits are almost non-existant.

stores can return them to the manufacturer.

Of cours, I haven't quit my day job yet, either :)

Hmm, I think you have a good point after all...

True story - as VP, Al Gore met Michael Jordan, and told him "I really loved Thriller"
Yeah, and some people dies from a colon infection brought on by sexual impalement.
Truer words were never spoken!
People like to listen to "classic rock" radio stations and declare that the 60s/70s was full of great music, whereas today is a wasteland of shit.
The 60s and 70s had plenty of shit too, the only difference in classic rock stations only play the good stuff!
They do. The front page.
Quite different than simply "roasting a piece of bread over fire."
PS - Most high-end audio fanatics I know prefer SACDs and audio DVDs.
Landing a probe on Mars is easy. getting it to communicate after it's done so is not so easy.

Oh, there aren't any living slaves? Well, then SHUT THE FUCK UP AND GO BACK TO PICKING COTTON!
