I dunno, hard to say. But you'd think if Microsoft would go so far as to copy the code they'd be smart enough to copy the patch, too, instead of sitting on it for six months:-)
Because as it stands some distros are using hexagonal wheels, heptagonal wheels and octagonal wheels. Glueing them together isn't gonna make them any more round.
I think a new standard (a *standard*) would be nice, even if it's heavily based on an existing package format.
The only way I can see this happening though is if some of the major distros (Redhat, SuSE, Debian, Mandrake, Slackware) get together and decide that there *should* be standard.
What are the odds of that though? Unfortunately, probably not very likely.
Until that time we'll have the glued together solution, which may turn out okay.. I guess we'll see.
I wouldn't mind going a few days without Internet if it means getting every BIND server admin to set delegation-only for net and com, effectively disabling ShiteFinder.
Not HTML with javascript, but definitely XHTML with javascript.
Disclaimer: I did not RTFP.
Cast (in order of appearance):
CUSTOMER - Played by IBM CART MASTER - Played bo Novell DEAD PERSON - Played by SCOWell, you could call it UnitedLinux. I hear that one's free.

No.
No, I believe he's talking about the Ultra-light Field Howitzer. Or uh.. yeah.. probably the first one.

I'm not sure if it's available as a patch, but you can download the latest version of BIND and you'll be set.
And then, as AKnightCowboy pointed out earlier:
Ah ha. I knew SCO's tactics seemed strangely familiar. I'm surprised I never realized this before, thank you for pointing this out.
Obviously VeriSign saw how well SCO was doing and decided to try it out, too.
Let's just hope they both end up like Hitler: dead.

Yes, but can it make it past the 90 minute barrier in sunlight?
Well, pseudo-compiled languages is hardly a "big company" thing. Look at Python for instance. It's all over the place (in the open source world).
So what you're suggesting is one big giant orgy?
Dammit. When you said "see for yourself", I though you were going to link to a picture of Natalie Portman.
Others have already noted that you are wrong, but for those who want to know, try searching for just litigious or bastards by itself :)
I think this was quite a successful googlebomb.
That's funny. I searched for 'oral' and this was nowhere near the top of the results.
I did, however, find a few other interesting files to download.
I agree. Project Guttenberg is one of the first things that come to mind.
At which time the story will spread like cancer to mainstream news outlets, making its way to Google News.
Yeah, SMTP is the first thing that came to my mind, too. I wish we could just get rid of it (and replace it).
As for identd.. people still use that?
Well, I feel safe for now, as long as they're just doing ant algorithms.
It's when they start algoritms for big, muscular Austrian men with deep accents that I'll be scared.
Very scared.
You're new here, aren't you?
Darl Goes to Hell: The Final Friday
Me, too. I just lost 10 bucks.
Well, a virus has to start somewhere.
Maybe Andy was the first person the virus author sent it to, knowing that Andy would run the executable and begin the spreading of the virus.
It could be that the author was friends with Andy, which is the reason for the apology.
Just a thought...
Oh my god! I know sombody not named Andy!
Looks like I'm gonna make a few bucks from SCO.
