Her district looks like it's mostly Bayview Hunters Point. If I'm reading the map properly her district starts at about SBC park, and heads south through Hunters Point.
It's not actually a joystick, although I agree that it looks like one. The vertical stick that you wrap your hand around does not move relative to the base.
I have one of these, and could never get used to it. I like this one much better.
I've always gotten a keyboard and mouse with my Macs. It's sort of a bone of contention, in fact. See the Macs only have one mouse button argument in any number of threads.
The Avengers was a great TV show (perfect for its time) that was made into a really awful movie. The look was OK, I guess, but the casting was dreadful, and the writing worse.
Given that the average movie reviewer is probably about the right age to think that Diana Rigg was the hottest thing to come out of the UK in the 20th century, it's no wonder that they hid the Uma-abomination from them.
(nothing against Uma, actually, but she was all wrong for this part)
Sort of. It's based on the number of senators (two per state), and the number of congressmen (roughly proportional to population).
It's something like this:
- the congress has a fixed size
- seats are allocated proportionately, except that
- all states are guaranteed at least one congressman
It's been a while since I read up on this, so I may have things somewhat wrong, but I think that this is close.
Fair would actually be like the Senate. Each state gets (1) electoral vote. Those votes can be determined by however the state wishes to give them.
You've _got_ to be kidding me. This would disenfranchise a vast number of Americans. Do you really think that all states should be equal in importance? How about if we apportioned the electoral votes based on physical size of the states? I'm sure that Alaska would like it. How about splitting based on the economic importance of the states? Actually that would probably not be too far off of where we are now, with population as the main factor.
Seriously, I think that the electoral college would be better if all the states split their vote proportional to the popular vote in that state.
let me get this straight... football is the large, brown, oblong, ball, and baseball is the smaller, round white ball, right? They both have stitches, right?
Max/MSP is a very cool graphic data flow programming language for... well, anything really, but focused on MIDI and DSP. There is also an add-on program called Jitter that specializes in video manipulation.
Max originally came from IRCAM in the 1990s. It is currently shepherded by Cycling74
You cannot choose to leave a large gap unless the rest of the drivers around you are cooperating with your attempt to do so.
Sure you can. I do it all the time. It can be frustrating because of the driving pattern that you mention, but I do it anyway. You will not make quite as good time as you would by riding the person in front of you, but all it take is one accident, and you've pretty much lost the total amount of time that you might save by tailgating over your entire life span.
I wish that people understood the concept of slower traffic keep right. It would make driving so much better. They seem to understand this in Europe, but here in the US it's hopeless.

I have one of these and never liked it. I got one of these and like it much better:

Ouch.
SCSI is Small Computer Systems Interface.
SCSI is parallel. Standard SCSI is 8 bit, wide is 16 bit, and ultra-wide is probably wider :-)

I disagree on Bladerunner. I like Bladerunner, but "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" is a different story, but to my mind, better.
Wasn't 2001 (movie and book) based on a previous short story?
There's a Ubik screenplay that PKD wrote. I don't think it's as good as the book, but it's better than you might think.
Not koolaid, TANG!

I don't know about the 50%/50 years stat, but this should be eye-opening enough:

Move over Nostradamus, The Simpsons know all.
I thought you must be exaggerating his positions for effect, so I read the first two Tangent essays, and if anything, you toned them down.
Wow. Sims has a really, shall we say, "vivid" world view. (and by "vivid" I mean he's a misogynistic misanthrope of the first order)

Doesn't the sound of "un-gotten" jokes whizzing over your head get a little distracting, sometimes?
Or even more amazingly read True Names, by Vernor Vinge, which was published a few years earlier.
See, that just proves how cool it is. :-)

I'd never heard that Lenny Bruce quote quote before. Now I know the inspiration for The President's Analyst
Tell it to anyone working hard for minimum wage in this country. I'm sure that they will be sympathetic to your ideas.
Penguin's yawning pattern data, maybe, but not polar bears.
