People used to the imperial system may think in two-thirds or four-fifths or similar fractions. People used to the metric system do have a similar feel for.4 or.6. A 'metric' cup or glass by the way is around.2 L.
I always bake my noodle when somebody describes thickness as 41/64th inch, and it never occurs to me that this size would have thickness variations between 5/8 and 21/32.
Chronic Snoozer was not worth to bite the bullet. The bird was supposed to fly at Mach.98 or so, vs the current travel speed of.80 to.86. Not a lot of 'go' for a 15% fuel upcharge.
Had it been a Concorde contestant at Mach 2.00, I would have loved to see it fly...
They did not 'ban' Counter-Strike. It was added to the so-called 'index'.
The 'index' is a list of media (books, movies, games etc) that one is not allowed to sell to minors and that one is not allowed to promote. Lots of hard porn, horror movies etc on it.
As long as you have the legal age of 18+, you're free to buy these things.
That sounds like a serious gadget. Will instantly upgrade my home stereo, the alarm clock, and my 30 year old classic car radio to MP3 capability. Granted, it's not cristal clear quality, but for many applications it will do nicely.

If you want to travel the world in style, use this.
The longer a vehicle gets and the wider the front track is, the less of an issue it means to be three-wheeled - especially with a low center of gravity.
You come to the point where you slide instead of tilt pretty quickly. Sliding isn't good, but it's not worse on three than on four wheels.
When I use my trusted old Palm, I start a program by either tapping on its icon, or using on of the 'hardware' buttons. Once I'm done and want to do something else, I start another program.
What happens to the first? It's... well, I don't know. I'm a user. I don't care.
Using that behaviour on my Windows box in the office provokes a crash latest at noon, though.
Large corporations typically are divided into various legal entitites in different country, to maximize on government grant, subsidies, local taxation and such.
Totally apart from that there's businesses/business units/segments/whatever you call them that deal with different products, markets or technologies.
Explaining different directions within such a monster by referring to its legal entities doesn't make that much sense...
Minidisk may be fashionable in the UK, but the rest of Europe doesn't buy in either.
If my music player of choice doesn't need to play the silver round thing I just bought in the mall, why should I not use an iPod? Or get rid of moving parts at all and have a flash MP* player?
Because this fits in my shoulder bag, I can take it jogging with me, it shows my movies in the hotel room and weighs less than my notebook battery plus charger.
Don't know about your part of the world, but here (Region 2) DVD players generally are sold modified. Your local shop would have a small pile of unopened boxes and a huge pile of opened and reclosed boxes that have a handwritten 'm' on it.
And due to european warranty regulations, even these will have a two year warranty:-)

There's not only audiophiles and audiophiles, but even audiophiles. Even heard of an audiophile lately, but that's probably an urban legend...

Jump over one continent to the right. Fuel is about $1 per liter. Which is about $3.5-$4 per gallon. Instantly it makes sense.

Don't know what part of Europe you're in (Germany?), but don't generalize. Here in Luxembourg broadband starts around 100 EUR/month for 256/64.
