There are those of us who have invested quite a bit of money in home theater systems with big HDTV's and personally I'm going to buy an HD player this year. Which format depemds on what is going to happen over the next 6 months or so.
Personally, I think they are wrong. I have read all of their latest papers and can't say I'm convinced nor am I convinced that the universe was created in a Big Bang. It was more of a Big Fizzle where not all the uninitiated material were exploding, but rather it behaved like a nuclear bomb that fizzles. All of what we think of as dark matter is in reality uninitiated matter leftover from the Big Fizzle. Watch out for a more scientific theory in a couple of years.
They have no effect on terrorism, no effect on future actions. Airtravel is now one of the safest ways of travel, as there is no way another terror act will use commercial airplanes, bur rather something we have not even considered.
I always serve a couple of Irish Coffee to my clients before I push my junk bonds. You should see my new neighbour here in Jupiter, Fl... Tiger Woods... Thank you Irish Coffee!
Alas, the majority of PC users have no clue, can't install anything and don't care for "Lusix" or "Apple POS"
I know it's not what people here on/. wants to hear and I'm sure I'll be modded as flamebait when it is really just a snapshot of how the world is.
Just wait until the likes of Abramoff is done working over our corruptors errr I mean politicians. We must have the worlds most corrupt political system after Niger and Upper Volta!
There will also be a channel switching prevention built into it, so you can't switch a channel. When they want to force you to watch ads, they mean it!;-)
I'm sure most Linux users would be able to, let's say, compile a small source program consisting of a single source file (MS Access in this case) but not everyone can, without instructions, get OpenOffice (Oracle in this case) to compile easily.
I mean, you can probably drive any car on this planet, but can you fly the Space Shuttle? And why do we need one, I mean cars work fine for everyone.
If you are too stupid to follow a simple installation instruction that tells you exactly what all the kernel parameterrs need to be, I wouldn't put the blame on anyone but yourself.
And if you try to install Oracle on an unsupported distribution, you can not expect it to work flawlessly. I install databases on a regular basis and I have never had the installer crash on me since version 8.0.4, i.e approx 7-8 years ago. Does it crash? Sure, most of the issues we have with the installer is due to people not reading the instructions, trying to install on a configuration not meeting the minimu requirements, using an incorrect version of JRE, thinking that they know better than everyone how things are done and ignore instructions.
I've said it before and I'll be happy to repeat it. Oracle RDBMS is currently the most complex piece of software sold publically and it requires knowledge about the product to manage it.
Stop blaming Oracle and blame yourself for being an ignorant who can't follow instruction like this one
We have a corrupt politcal system that puts us in the same class as Sudan, Kirgistan and other underdeveloped 3rd world countries where the political power can be bought as easy as a pack of Marlboro. And that pretty much sums up the state of the union here in the US.
"Maximizing to fill all screen real estate would be a completely idiotic feature in such an environment"
Who are you (or Apple) to tell me how I should work? Get the fuck out of my way and let me do my job the way I want and need to!. In case you haven't noticed, some of us have jobs that involve other programs than an editor and a browser.
I turned 30 in 1987 and I never eat in Fast food... oops sorry excuse me, "Fat Food" places I meant to say. Nor do I eat all the shit that is served in this country. Take a look at school lunches... Hot dogs, pizza, cheese burgers, sodas, chips, fries Holy shit! No wonder kids are so fat that they roll home from school! It's fucking disgusting!
You asked "Why is that?"
Because we live in a corrupt country where, if you have enough money, can buy every politician all the way up to and including the president. He, GWB, is already owned by Saudi Arabia and Halliburton, so you know he cares as much about you and me, as he cares about a fart in the wind.
I could care less about Apple hardware and their ideas of what I should use or not. I prefer to buy the hardware I like, not the hardware Apple like. Unless OSX will be available on all Intel/AMD machines, it will be a small niche product.
For some reason the name Apple seems appropriate for the company: Shining on the outside and rotten on the inside....
Not to mention that when the data is not normalized (as is the case with most customers I deal with), it's just a messy spagetti of data that can not be related outside their inital scope.
The company I work for brought me here because of my abilities and skills. Even though I have a green card, I will not be living here for that much longer. And if it is of any comfort to you, I can make 3 times what I make here in the US back in my home country, but I value the challenges of this job more than money since I have more than enough for a comfortable life. Add to that that the climate here in Florida is way better than back home. Looking at a home down in Keys at the moment so I can do some fishing too.
Luckily I have a great pension and a great health care system in my home country so i would never trade my citizenship with a US one.

And the pricetag doesn't bother me one bit.

"Spelled" maybe?
Well, all kneel down to the genious.

Sure, they can ruin Internet inside USA, but the rest of the world couldn't care less.
LOL... Been there... said them all... ;-)
Ofcourse it will become mandatory.

Your argument is on primary school level.

Bravo! Bravo!!
Best comment I have read in a long time.

Can I maximize a window to occupy all screen real estate under OSX?
