My job is to support analysts internally and to handle the big escalations we get (my team that is, not just me personally) and many days there can go several hours between each task, but when the shit hits the fan, I (or my team) am expected to save the companies ass and I don't have count of how many million dollar customers I have saved. I have no problems doing nothing at times, nor do my company since it takes at least 5-10 years to build the knowledge and understanding and analytical skill not to mention the people skill needed in the job and hence they do anything in their power to retain the top people, which suites me fine. It has taken many years to get to this level and I enjoy it tremendously!

You humans are a strange animal. You all are worshipping some strange fantasy fiugures that you belive control your life and will reward or punish you after death! Most of the civilizations of the Universe have left this caveman attitude several million years ago.

And what is with those paper slips you call money that you animals kill each other for? I mean it's not like there is a shortage on paper on thsi planet, esp with speed you destroy the forests, the lungs of the planets and as far as I know, the smal green bills do not breath!

And technology... Oh my! Where do I start? When I arrived I felt like a time-traveller, placed millions of years into the past, I really had a problem adjusting to the inferior way of living, but I have survived, barely!

My last report back home mainly consisted of an analysis why a certain group of animals on this planet was so set on killing each other for no reason. I still don't understand the hatred ssome animals show for other animals, esp the animals with darker skin. Strange planet.... Very strange!

I have on various occasions used P2P and Bittorrent and all I can say is that it is incredibly unreliable and extremly slow. P2P is the most flawed protocol ever devised for the net.

  10. Re:And emule is Fast?!!! on Australian Court says Kazaa Users Breach Copyright · · Score: 1

Why are people using the slow P2P systems that leave you open to all kinds of crap. Why not use good old USENET. Music, videos, pr0n.. whatever you want and whatever pervertion you fancy today is covered in great detail on USENET and I have so far not seen RIAA/MPAA take on USENET.

If you are on a cable-modem, expect max download speeds from your local ISP's newsserver, else subscribe (typical $15/month unlimited download and long retention) to a decent commercial newsserver and get a newsreader who can combine multiple servers to ensure completition.

I guess it's just us old-timers that use USENET these days, it was what was the killer app when I got on the net back in the 80's along with email and ftp and gopher.

I'd rather forget him quickly, may he rest in peace. Add to that that the imbecile in the White House now gets to pick another buddy to mess up the supreme court for decades to come.

Rehnquist death could not have come at a worse time. I was hoping he would live through the current presidency because no matter who follows Bush as president, they have to be better than him. Dubya is *THE* worst president USA has had.

Unfortunatly, this country is racing towards becoming a 3rd world country as fast as it can. Latest proof came this week, thanks to Katrina.

The whole supreme court system in USA is flawed, it's horrible appointment procedure results in political judges who decide based on their own party politics and not based on law and reason. Add to that the justices are appointed for life by a president who is not responsible to anyone. There is not a world leader who are more inaccessible and not repsonsible to anyone than in the US. When was the last time the president met with a panel of reporters in prime time to discuss status quo? Never happened!
