Yes, for those of you remember our little survivor from Ma Bell all those years ago..gobbled up by qwest.
The DSL line has NOT MOVED IN 6 YEARS. It's been 1/2 mile south of us for that amount of time. Now we're finally hearing that we "can hope to have DSL by July" but I'm not putting much faith in that.
No, wireless links were and are too expensive - too many tall trees, and any towers we set up would become the tallest thing around.
Satellite's too expensive and too laggy.
Cable will never come here, housing isn't dense enough. (5 acre lots - some small developments now are being built on 1-3 acres)
Yeah, that would be profiting from (as you're an employee and get paid to write the reviews) the use of stolen copyrighted works. MUCH harsher enforcement of the law there. Just distributing, well, you're not getting any money from it, but if you were to take those illegally obtained games and then wrote reviews from playing them, then you'd be up a creek without a paddle. (IANACL, Copyright Lawyer)
This is cool. I'll have to take a peek at it, but what would be really cool (mainly due to the size of modern distributions) would be a DVD +/- RW version of this, if Knoppix can compress ~2GB of software into a 650MB CD, think what we can do with 4.7GB of space...
...the servers are overloaded AS IT IS. Why let more people in to increase the lag, and ques (for those servers that are like that - not all are) to get more money when every one of them is going to complain and whine about it, and some of them will leave?
Better to keep same player count, and optimize/upgrade the server clusters (assuming here that each realm is on several servers) to handle the current load, and increase to allow for new players along with that.
When we placed the ad with the NY Times, we got a discount for taking it when they (the NY Times) wanted to within a two week window. With this one, they've got a guy who works for the LA Times, so he probably got the discount as well as the chance to pick his/her own date.
Some type of sound tone...either volume, or speed of tones...like a metal detector? Or maybe a system of them...one variation for quantity of signals...another variation on the sounds for quality of the signals?
...on my own site, and it's all software that either I use or suggest to others (like ZoneAlarm...works, but I personally prefer Kerio for my use, more technical)
Which is why my machine is always locked, and the chatlog folders are also encrypted, so if I were to let someone on my system, they wouldn't just automatically have rights to see all that stuff.
I deal with it this way: I've got the "IE View" Extension installed, which adds a little thing to my context menu in Firefox, at the bottom, titled "View this page in IE" which, as expected, launches that page with IE. Works on links too, just right-click, and select "Open Link Target in IE"
Ohh! What's this? A Firefox View for IE? Wonderful! (Same thing as IE View, but installs through Firefox into IE, allowing to view a page in Firefox that's loaded in IE)
See here: http://www.hacksrus.com/~ginda/chatzilla/ I've been using it in Firefox for quite some time, works handy. Even semi-works (with some tweaks for overlapping keystrokes) in a tab.
National Lampoon's Christmas just came on little over an hour ago (7PM, CST, on Channel 11) Here in Minnesota. Watching it as we speak...stupid commercials...
I also find it such an irony (and PITA) when MS releases whitepapers on THEIR OWN SITE regarding Office, and Windows, in PDF rather than their own.doc format. Some are one, some are the other. Why? I have no friggin clue, but it's really really really annoying.
Exactly. Which is one of the reasons I refuse to get rid of my old DOS box. 6.22/3.11 for Workgroups. If some 32-bit virii went around, hit everything...I've got my 486 to get the patch:)

Not everyone needs a passport, however. So the cost-benefit might be better yet. I don't know, it's late and I'm tired. Just my $0.02.
Just was at AMD's 64bit technote presentation (or whatever they called it) They've got dual-core CPUs in the works right now...I want to say it was like Q2 or Q3 of 2005. I might be wrong, I can't quite remember. At that point I was getting a little ansy to go look at all the cool displays.
Barring BIOS support, you'll be able to drop the dual-core CPUs into existing boards (assuming the board itself supports it - which from the sounds of things, some will just require a BIOS update)
I take it one step further...I put them all into a spreadsheet, password protected of course, and store it in multiple places (various email accounts, thumbdrives, etc) so that I can:
1) access them anywhere (I'm doing frequent installs - not just games are in here, *all* my keys)
2) Have a backup for when I need to reinstall and can't find the CD and/or key. All I need is A disk that'll work with my key, and I'm set.
All these other posts are making me wonder. I've taken a original GB game and stuck it in my GBA SP, with no problems. So they've dropped support. Heh.
Not suprised, since I've seen original NES games and such made for the GBA.
Yeah...well, lemme put it this way:
USWEST PROMISED US DSL.

So just because I have a .biz domain, you wouldn't trust my site? (I realize I don't have anything to "buy" per se on my site, but you get the point)
.biz because .com and .net were taken, and .org didn't fit my business (I'm not a non-profit)
.com and .net are the only legitimate ones?
I picked

I'm quite certain mine's a 1.0, or a 1.1...cool. I'm still running the stock software loadout, and it's worked fine for me when I've needed to use it.
Anyplace to find out more on what the different revisions have/don't have etc?

I for one will be looking through this list in the next week to see what else I can add to my own list.
You'd do it like this (With the link to GAIM as the example): Gaim

Hopefully you're not refering to my 486...cuz we got it back in 1994. Stupid troll...
It's the third component to the seperated suite, financed by the Lindows team. Currently sitting at 0.60, it's looking better and better all the time.
