Just my two cents: I had a teacher once (I think my calc teacher) who said that the difference between an engineer and a mathematician is an engineer will say "good enough" and a mathemitician will say "it's not exact"(big time paraphrasing, its been a while).
I think your argument is an engineering argument: Newtonian physics are "good enough" to create cars and fly space shuttles. I think the parent is making a mathematician's argument: Newton's laws are not exact (or complete, or however you want to convey it ), as proved by Einstein.
Man...Talk about churning up latent memories. I totally remember doing that in Sears when i was like 10 or 11...except I was more egotistical and wrote:
10 print "Mike is Great"
20 got 10
and you could put a semicolon somewhere in the print statement so there would be no "newline" - basically blanketing the screen.
well, to be honest, you do have the freedom to be left alone. Unfortunately it involves not participating or assimilating in culture or society. They call them homeless people I believe.
Take a deep breath there chicken little. You're typing so fast your dyslexia is running rampant. As a previous poster(and submission editor) has pointed out, the text of the ruling says that you cannot "Promote" infringing use. This may be good. It doesn't kill P2P, it kills blatant promotion of copyright materials or circumvention. Well, just don't promote the bad side of the applications uses. Kind of like Smith and Wesson, they don't have bullet ridden dead bodies on there main page (I'm a little lazy and I didn't fact check this, its just a hunch) however their products have the potential to leave such a scene. Sure it's illegal to mass murder, but you shouldn't promote that your product has such potential.
If you've lived in Orlando for any extended amount of time, you should understand the humidity problem pretty well. We live in what amounts to a paved over swamp. However, I can't believe that air humidity would actually "short" out any electrical parts in anything or else the whole town would be sparking and fizzing. Unless, by "humidity" you mean the daily torrential rain, then yes, that would pose a problem to a laptop.
As for the service, I think you're right. I had heard about the WiFi service but was never motivated to sit downtown around Lake Eola just to surf the web. I understand that I am probably not the typical user of their pilot program, but as you pointed out, it wasn't in a very hospitable environment. A previous poster pointed out that Philadelphia is implementing city-wide WiFi. That would be sweet. And expensive.
I just went to every site you mentioned and they are all pretty good (i've been lazy and have only been using iTunes). However, is MP3Tunes in for a lawsuit from Apple for completely copying they're interface? Its almost exactly likely iTunes but with a different skin. Although just recently Apple was sued for allegedly copying the iTunes interface from someone else. So, I guess its lawsuits for everyone....
Yeah, this is a serious contradiction. My wife sent me this article and I sent her this link with all kinds of people criticizing the Gartner Group, accusing them of basically being a hype group.
So are we a dying breed? Or are we in demand? I think programming/IT/computing will always be a great career as long as you keep your skill set up to date and of course, you enjoy it.
I made this point too, you have to bring a VHS tape in order to record your Ultrasound sessions. However, if you get a 3D Ultrasound, it burns them to cd in mpeg and jpeg formats. It's not worth it though. The thing is, the machine for the traditional ultrasound and the 3D ultrasound seemed to be the same, you would think it would record to the same medium.
Last year we got a 3D sonogram for fun. It was a big ripoff because the baby has to be in a particular position for the imaging device (and ours wasn't). We got some decent images but it wasn't worth it. We were going to see her in 4 weeks anyway. And while they are searching, the image it shows is pretty disturbing. Imagine the skin and bones, eyeballs, nose in your baby's face extruding in and out so sometimes you see a skull with eyeballs.
Suffice to say we are having another baby in 6 months and we will not be getting the 3D sonogram.
oh, and to stay on topic, the sonogram machine only took VHS for traditional sonograms. (the 3D sonograms were burned to cd as mpegs and jpegs.)
I was a Tesla fan until they came out with that song "Signs". "Signs" was overplayed so much I just couldn't stomach them anymore.
oh. You mean Nikola Tesla. Yeah I'm a big fan. Those coils are rad!

wait a minute. You're saying that terrorism is effective, therefore, it is sane? Killing yourself with a car bomb, flying jets into a building...all of these are 'sane' to you? Effective? most certainly. I don't think it says anywhere in my post that it isn't effective. Is it a sane thing to do?

Isn't "sane terrorist" an oxymoron? Probably meant "no smart terrorist".
wtf is wrong with you people? Are you dumbfucks so perfect that you have to rag on a guy's weight? "In this modern age"? WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??? People come in all different shapes and sizes, maybe that's what their DNA tells them to look like....dipshit.
Actually, I don't think Gmail allows you to create folders (or subfolders off of inbox). At least I cannot find this feature. I think their goal is for you to use the search feature if you want to find a particular email as well as use their "conversation" feature.
To be honest, I'm having a hard time getting used to the "non-tree" layout. I like my data to be visually organized. With the search feature, it's potentially organized.
Ah yes...the infinitely outlined requirements document is my favorite:

Back in my day, we used plain text and used punctuation if we needed to emphasize a word. All these fancy colors and fonts. FLIM FLAM! All we really need is PINE and thats all there is to it!
I know...what is up with all these haters? These are the guys who are going to be crotchity old men with no sense of humor. Even if it isn't super hilarious, its funny to see a lot of things in life that are usually super serious lighten up a bit ONE day out of the year.

I don't know. iFilms is great and all, but I think Jon Stewart should have won for Television. He did something (and continues to) that no one else on major television stations would dare do, and that is be brutally honest and be intelligent about it. When it comes to those qualities, he's my hero. Oh and the humor aspect is pretty good too.

Jetty Park isn't bad either, although a small entry fee is required.

ok went a little far with the dead body analogy.
That is if you're a student. Unless UCF has changed their policy in the past five years, I believe you need a student acount to access the network.

If you did some pattern recognition with the color codes, you would see that the colors match up to the cable numbers column.
This coming from the one who has the over used "Insensitive Clod" sig.
so in the spirit of the post i give the following:
1) Create Slasdot post ridiculing overquoted and overused +5 funny jokes
2) Subtley put said overused humor vehicle in sig
3) ???
4) Profit!
...you can't do the same with most binary operations since all the common ones except NOT...
I'm not trying to be an ass here, but isn't that why they call NOT a unary operation, because of one operand?
