    simple, decss was the first version of the code, proof-of-concept. made it possible to pirate dvds.

    every other program coming out since that day just improved it, but the battle was already lost the day decss was posted to the net. all your american organizations can do about it is to scare people.

    which is what they do best. infact, its alot like someone else in usa living in a big white house..

    Game makers know that the lower their system requirements the fewer copies they will sell - which I bet is why Counterstrike has been doing so well.
    Would you care to elaborate on that one? Counterstrike has low specs?

    1) All network traffic to/from any UCI computer, web site or server is untouched. There are no controls and no need to shape this, as it is "educational" traffic. Further, as it does not go to or from the Internet, we don't have to pay for it. As long as it stays within the UCI network, we can take advantage of the high-speed connections and equipment we have on campus.


    If you're lucky this means that the official computers at Univ. are not filtered, only the dorm ones. If thats true you can sneak a forwarding software onto their servers to get some real bw. However, you'll probably get suspended once caught..

    if everyone on the network used a program like that the net would be swamped. netbios isnt exactly the most pretty protocol, use a centralized server like waesch ( http://waesch.mircosoft.nu ) or untzuntzlan ( http://untzuntzlan.scourgeforge.net ) instead.

    yeah, compiling php & sql support for httpd is so much harder than it should be. ofcourse, libpng/jpg/gif being brokern doesnt really help when compiling php so it makes it look worse. but still, its a pain. i wouldnt TOUCH my installations of apache unless there would be something *very* appealing in apache2.

    To be honest, I've followed Farscape from the start, I've watched every episode soo far, and douh, SciFi doesn't even air in Sweden, go figure.

    From what I've seen from seasong 4, they're either running out of ideas or being bored, the plot is gone, its moving more and more into a serie of losely connected episodes where every episodes is a entirerly own story. What I liked about Farscape and I'm sure most others did was the "ongoing" plot that they actually stuck too, unless many other series like it..
