Lack of space on a DVD means to me that these guys aren't using the space well Well not exactly, there are a few ps2 games that use multiple DVDs, though most of this is movies, it's not that hard to imagine ways to fill a few dvds of data with non video content on the new consoles, especially in games like GTA4.
The major issues for console games is often to load and manage as much data as possible, not the processing power, and in this respect the ps3 comes out on top(as well as in more or less all other areas).
1. geometry buffers are ext because there has been no new openGL version since it's release (Besides FBO has been EXT for almost two years now), it's planned to become a part of the core in openGL 3, that's why it's not ARB yet. EXT extensions are by all definitions standard and most of them do make it into ARB status after some time.
2. actually DX has always had a batch problem, DX10 is like this to (only less so), but openGL doesn't really have that kind of extreme problem and openGL 3 will all but remove it (texture arrays will help too).
3. Super buffers, well most of them are already implemented (VBO, PBO, FBO), i don't know what's left though, and they will be a part of the core in openGL 3.
4. texture arrays, yes i do think they are in EXT, nifty little thing, it's like 3d textures but with individual mipmapping for every plane, and it should be supported by all GF6xxx cards and up (if not even the FX cards).
5. hardware, yes you always need new hardware, but save for the geo shaders a GF7900 can run all DX10 features within openGL, however if you do have a GF8800 with the current drivers you can use the geo shaders today.
Besides, OpenGL already supports all and more features of the D3D part of DX10 (with better performance to boot), and vista doesn't even support DX10 yet since you need the DX10 graphics drivers that hasn't been released yet, so why switch to vista when you don't have to.
The interesting part of this story is that this is only like the third sentry gun developed. The first one is a toy that can with some effort, duct tape and a m4 be made into a real one. The second one was made by a teenager using only a few pieces of wood, 3 servos, a webcam, a laptop and a p90 soft air gun (and it's not unlikely that it can use a real one). So if they are going to invent something new it better have legs and it better be 60 feet tall carrying a big gun.
1. wanna bet that people will download the stuff, then make DVD's of them and then pirate them.
2. I don't think just Adam Sandler constitutes a crime against humanity. You need at least Kevin Costner, Madonna and whoever wrote "bridges of Madison county" as well to qualify as a a crime against humanity.
Well even a wet paper bag works better than WGA, in my experience copy protection schemes are always worse for the legitimate user then the user with a pirated version, when Microsoft understands this windows will once again become a viable option, a free viable option.
Perhaps, but it will take atlest that long to clear out the worst oopses, "i didn't think of that", "it wasn't me, it must have been someone else" and "it's not a bug, it's a feature" kind of stuff.
When a good fully patched no security holes version of vista comes out OS X will no longer exist, it might however still be in a museum. Duke nukem forever will not be relesed, but amazon will claim it will be released by x-mas, however, x-mas will be in june for climate reasons and temperal distortions. sustained nuclear fusion, did it, used it, found something better. Flying cars, try flying cities. Warp drive, that's so last milenium.
But until that we either have to endure the same crap as we allways have, or run linux. Even i am concidering getting a mac, and i really truly hate macs and all apple related products more than anyone else (their screens are nice though).

Unfortunatly they are all in swedish, but some of you sould be smart enough to make them work.
no, it is. Only, lead is such an old metal that it got named well before they started with the whole -ium thing. other metals that is like this are. Ferrum - iron. Aurum - gold. Stannum - tin. Cuprum - copper.
Well just try seraching for phrases like "microsoft sucks" or "windows sucks". On msn search, one page in particular turns up on both phrases, it's www.mac-sucks.com Isn't that odd:) I did a couple of random searches and msn search didn't exactly pass with flying colors, try it yourself.
IT would be theoreticly possible to control a helocopter with lets say a spaceball mouse. IT wouldn't be that unsafe or inacurate either, just let a computer fly and you telling it where to go.
>>>And what happens when you want to type/relax/urinate? You put it down, lose your place in 3d space, and have to get it back to the same position to continue?
there is this little button on the side you press down to make it work, release it and it stops working(stops sending 3d positional data).
For every brainy mac user there are about 100 super inteligent pc users, 1000 smart ones, 1000000 avearage ones and about a gazzillion users that shouldn't even be close to a computer.
That doesn't mean that mac people are smarter, just that there are fewer stupid people using them.
Witch brings us to the question, do you have to be smart just to be able to use a mac?
Hopefully we(with we i meen sweden) got no enemies, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
Besides, military technology has a habit driving the technological evolution.
But then again, be afraid.
That's the M90 camofulage for ya.
It makes plain things look all techno, cool an stuff.
But allthough it has straight edges, it blends suprisingly well into the background when used on uniforms and other things.
For Windows: instant reboot of system key.
For Mac: a second mousebutton replacement key.
For Linux: play that anoying sound clip of linus pronoucing linux key.

Don't forget Bad Guys.
While not as "whacked" as 200, it is pretty funny, especially daniel.

The reason is simple, i download my movies from fine sites like thepiratebay.org, no DRM here.
As usual, only legit consumers are affected.
I have only one thing to say to them, GG!

this one is better http://thepiratebay.org/torrents-details.php?id=32 82993&hit=1
It's not a direct link, but good enough.
try
thepiratebay.org
Better, bigger, and MPAA can't reach em.
http://www.google.com/intl/xx-hacker/faq.html for you guys that does not know the meaning of cut and paste.
Yea, just search for this "phi|\|d /\/\3 50/\/\3 l33t 5|-|it", the first thing that pops up is pretty cool, it's allso on google.
