    The damage the US has done to US Tech Companies has just started. International companies are dumping American Companies even though they tried to do the right thing. Something needs to be done to reign in the US government and in particular the military and nsa.

    problem is that the traditional taxi services are not meeting demand or Uber and Lyft would not be able to grow this fast. In a number of markets taxi's will just outright refuse to make short trips so part of this is also the monopoly that taxi's enjoy that they are abusing. More competition is good.

    everywhere Google Fiber has set up shop has completely changed the landscape of what these legacy internet providers offer. Google's rollout cannot happen fast enough and even if comcast matches it people will still dump them due to these types of policies.

    sad anyone has the misconception these kinds of policies help. The goal of these policies is to make people who don't understand how easy it is to get whatever you want on an airplane to feel safe. You are not safer (it is just security theater), and you are just enabling your rights being taken away by thinking this is helping.

    problem with the short sighted spying and lets spend crazy money on the military misses that economic might is certainly more important. You cannot pay for stupid expensive spying and military programs or twist the arms of other countries if you are not economically strong. Not only is the spying program Constitutionally wrong it is weakening the US in real and lasting ways.

    The last mass violence spree was with a knife. So he is going to do what, ban knifes? Ban anything that can be used to hurt people?

    The elephant in the room is that mental health services have been slashed for decades and even when people are identified as being unstable there is little that is or can be done to help them before they become violent.

    My 2 cents is that walled gardens even when successful have a shelf life. If you were trying to milk the most money out of your product and have the longest lifespan I would open it up and take advantage of all the users that are willing to develop or add content for free like Roku has done.
