    I think you missed the part where the people bypassing the system are evil, detection is not the fault of the scanner tech, and the evil sick people must be stopped so the scanner can work.

    We have been trying to sell these dang temperature scanners for months, but now we have a new marketing strategy to move them like hot cakes. We will accuse sick people using medicine of trying fool health officials to diabolically spread pandemic viruses and get the public to panic. Then we will be sitting pretty on all the new orders. Profit!

    I know I personally received several hundred calls from these guys. I had numerous people tell me they had received the same types of calls. The FTC can stop patting themselves on the back, the fact that it took this long is embarrassing.

    That has got to be one of the most annoying things I have ever seen on a laptop. Who ever thought this was a good idea at Dell should be forced to have 20 of these laptops asleep in his room at night while he tries to sleep.

    Actually, that is not true about EVE. Everything in PvP is very specialized so a new player can have a big impact by training for a fleet role, like webbing, scouting, missile boat, etc. And, it does not really take that long to have a comparable character for smaller ships, there is a skill element so an old character that picked a bad ship setup will get crushed by a new one with a good ship setup (and it happens a lot). It is only if you want to pilot the biggest ships that you need to have an old trained up character.

    People like to own stuff. Deal with it.

    Recently, I heard from a friend about a car they leased for several years and then turned it in to the dealer. They were charged all kinds of nickel and dime things to a big bill. Now they will never lease another car ... ever. It is a business model most Customers will avoid.

    I have not seen any utter failure of the patch? A lot of people actively discuss sleepers in chat and a lot of really annoying things got changed like you mentioned, the 24 hour queue to training. If this is a result of the counsel, they made the right call.

    These same telcos are getting government subsidies (tax payers are paying that too) so it is not a level playing field, the municipality is at a disadvantage. This is just bullying by the telcos to try and save a broken business model.
