Not one of Bill Gates biggest fans, but he had a great lecture for students. In one part of it, he said something to the effect that schools do everything in their power to try and make things fair. The faster you understand that the world is not fair and does not care if you think it owes you something the better you will do.
And there is good money in being a developer if you work hard. EE is no easier.
I have not set foot in a Blockbuster in 10 years. Right before I canceled my account, Blockbuster screwed me saying I did not return a movie, wanted me to pay for it, found it, and made me pay a huge late fee. This was not the first time they gouged me so I told them to shove it. Glad to know that I am still not missing anything. Netflix has been so much better and they are even adding new free services like streaming video.
It is being measured and anything being measured improves. If you don't agree, write them an email and voice your opinion. Maybe they will change it is it is reasonable.
I would be surprised if Google would not want to stick with Mozilla. I have always viewed Chrome as Google's attempt to push browser technology. More ways to get to Google Search makes them more money. Dumping Mozilla and replacing them with a fledgling browser does not.
Microsoft is still pursuing a marketing strategy to try and squeeze money out of the OS at the expense of their true Customers, the people who actually use the OS. Until they return to serving only the end Customer and not music industry and other competing interests people will continue to move away from them.
Wouldn't it be ironic if microsoft decides to rebuild IE9 from the ground up like Netscape did when they were dominant? Would be the wheel of life making a complete turn I think.
I believe you are getting it wrong. There is a whole generation of Customers ripe for a new content delivery method that the MPAA and RIAA have tried to bully and extort. In response these Customers have rightfully turned their noses up at them, but not to say they would not purchase movies and music online if the service is easier and product is better than what they can get else where. The marketplace is brutal and if these companies want to be whiny idiots let them, but people should have no sympathy.
I expect that as technology progresses that the batteries will get better, but I am still hopeful that there will be more effort put into developing hydrogen powered cars. Then you would not need the huge acid lead batteries, emissions from the vehicles would be literally just water, and all the innovation could be focused on generating hydrogen.
That is a lot of sugar coating. XBMC is pretty, but it is just a simple frontend for multimedia files. You cannot program mythtv. You do not get features like automatic commercial skip when watching tv (in like, no need to press a remote button). And XBMC is pretty well known as is Boxee for having lots of bugs, and I would rather be watching content than rebooting my box.
They should be screaming made that Warner Bros is trying to kill off a huge source of advertising and income. If they are successful, they will just price this game out of the market and it will die. Warner Bros execs are idiots.
Ballmer may have made that rant, but it was Bill who actually followed it. If you looks at the releases of visual basic, vba, excel, this was true, Microsoft courted developers. Once Ballmer took over, they changed their focus from the end customer and developers to a marketing strategy to try and get money from people who are not the end customer. That is why vista sucked and why drm and all the other "features" they are adding are nothing people actually want. This has cost them dearly.
While it is no doubt that the people who run the RIAA and IFPI have no idea what they are doing I also wonder how much of a contributing factor that people are putting 2 + 2 together and recognizing who supports the RIAA. Companies are very protective of their brands and sony, emi, warner bros, and universal do not like the negative image this is bringing them directly.
Business is a brutal and if you are not willing to do something like Valve's Steam that gives something for giving up something I have no sympathy. Adapt to the market place and quit complaining.
Consoles are just a gateway into PC gaming anyway. All the more reason to get a PC sooner than later if console manufacturers are going to also treat you like this.
Feinstein probably mis-calculated that this would pass before anyone would discover this amendment. It got pulled, because of the negative publicity it generated that might have caused the whole bill from not being passed. Lieberman was outed for his negative contribution to the American Public, a new effort should be made to target Feinstein and get her kicked out of office.
I hate all the crapware they install on new computers. The very first thing I do is wipe the disk. Companies are going to have to come to terms with the fact that marketing your product in every possible way will not lead to increased profitability if your actual Customer hates it. I would go so far to say that I would pick a vendor that does not put all this crapware on the computer just so I don't need to re-install to get it off.

What the hell is FFmpeg anyway? Oh, it is a badass CODEC library. Yippie!
There fixed that for you.

So far he has not declared any wars and has been keeping most of his promises. I'll take it. (especially so after bush)

I wish I could see the answers to the questions on any chemistry test final you have ever had.

If you like to tinker, you can have all of the content on one box and the way you want it with no strings. TV, cable, satellite, internet, everything.

Everyone should blur Anderson's name in all publications and documents to make sure he is safe from terrorists.

I think it could "benefit for society", but only if I am the one that decides what is beneficial and not Videotron.
/sarcasm

term limits are bad? Like Henry the 8th bad?
Like what? I play Eve and have not had any problems for quite a while.
