But how are we to study these environments (and hopefully learn how not to screw them up anymore than we already have) without some human interaction? We are on this planet. Interaction is going to happen. Maybe these little sensors are less intrusive than other ways of monitoring.
I did this calc a couple of years ago, and, depending on which cars you use, came up with 200,000-400,000 miles to even out the extra cost of the hybrid. That's pretty much never. And yes, I included the tax advantage.
With the increased price of gas, it will be lower, but still not great.
Does it happen? Sure. Once in a great while, with some weird combination of hardware/software.
Having it happen daily? That's a whole different thing. You'd think that the user would try to track it down and fix it, rather than having it bluescreen 'almost daily'.
First, when a widget starts to download, Tiger prompts me and says "This download contains an application, do you want to continue?" That should be the first dead-giveaweay.
Social engineering around that would be easy. "Mac's are immune to viruses, right? At least that's what everyone tells me."
(of course there's nothing stopping you from usign the same name and icon as...say Calculator).
FF can be set to d/l automatically. "Do this automatically for files like this from now on." If you've clicked that box in the past, zip files will be automagically downloaded. This will work for any filetype. Automatically play a.wav/mp3 file, or open a.doc, or d/l whatever.
The trick is to write a counter legislation and convince Congress that yours is better.
Yeah. Just don't try to take it on a plane.
Hmmm. Yeah. They've been doing that.
And people wonder why the networks aren't behind P2P/BitTorrent.
Would it be too hard to ask the bartender the name of his establishment?
And the ex-girlfriends friends? You know...the hottie mutual friend who you may be interested in. Where do her loyalities lie?
Given enough 'colonists' with muskets and the effect downrange is much like semiauto or even full auto fire.
They're trying to keep the Google:Firefox ratio ar 1:1.
Or, change that to "what bar is my soon-to-be exwife hanging out in tonight?"
If it can be used by your friends, it can be used by people who don't like you. There's always a flip side.
If it was crap, why did you buy it? Using crap software makes no sense, be it proprietary or open.
Now? Driving simulators have been around for years. Granted, the tech is getting better and better, but this is not a new idea.
Verify and assist in teaching, but just as with flight simulators, there is no real substitute for performing the actual task.

Sure, the republicans ran with it, but Kerry actually did utter the phrase first. That was too juicy a screwup to leave alone.
As they have done for decades with passports.
"voted against the war before he voted against it">To be fair, the republicans didn't coin that line.
I think he meant ass or taint.
The only way you can really compare is similar cars. Civic vs Civic Hybrid, for instance. Explorer Hybrid vs Explorer.

It takes a special kind of person to have a WinXP box that bluescreens 'almost daily'.
Well, yeah. Evidently, some people lack the knowledge/skill to set up an XP box correctly.
Both coasts are far more 'infested' with humans than the mostly empty midwest. Let's start there.

Precisely.
Dumb to do, but it can be set like that.
