OK, so Trump won. Can someone on "our" side please come up with a way forward that doesn't involve "fact checking" social media, telling white males to shut up even more, ripping books off shelves, cutting off Wikileaks, making "safe spaces" or "trigger words" real, or otherwise invoking even more censorship?
Do you even realize that many of the people who voted for Trump ALSO voted for Bernie? (Yeah, it happened a lot up here.)
The nicest thing about Android phones and tablets is that you can create an account and use the App store without ever putting in a credit card. That's the only way I could imagine letting my kids use those things. It's also why I don't use any Apple devices (except as I have to for work). There's just way too much risk with hooking your credit card up to a phone or tablet - you're just nuts if you do that AND hand it to a kid.

Well, at least we finally understand the business model behind this "drone delivery" BS: Google gets your customer list, and you get a little PR bump by being able to talk about drones on local TV news.
>> Vine sucks, it was a stupid idea, and it needs to die.
I dunno. It's how my son consumes most of his professional sports. (e.g., "Who has time to wait for ESPN?" or "Did you see that catch? Here let me play it again.") And it's more conducive to conversation than a "long" 1-minute video, because everyone remembers what the context was after the clip.
I think these little Blitverts are thriving among the generation that will soon replace the whiney millennials - I wouldn't count them out.
^^^ Pretty much this. Every time I even touch my profile, old friends and acquaintances come out of the woodwork asking me if I'd want to work with them again.
I'll bet Uber drivers love this - I've rarely had a driver who could legally vote in America. (Yeah, I guess I'm one of the few people who talks to their drivers.)
>> White House said on Thursday it will establish 48 national electric-vehicle (EV) charging networks on nearly 25,000 miles of highways in 35 U.S. states
Better hurry up. It's a good bet that whatever crawls into the White House next will spend his or her time dodging civil and criminal lawsuits. "Ain't nobody gonna have time for your hipster charging stations!"
It's not. The model also worked for Microsoft. In fact, they worked it in two directions by bleeding out PC makers, who fell over themselves to build lower-and-lower margin boxes, while mainly Microsoft and consumers benefited.
>> concerns mount that the app economy has reached saturation
This was always a zero-sum game. I've owned ten different Android phones and four tablets now. I'm still waiting for the first time I actually need to *purchase* an app (or in-app content).
The whole point of "app stores" is to get developers to write apps for a platform, and then for competing apps to beat the price down to zero, thus providing the original platform provider and its users with (essentially) free apps. From what I see it's working perfectly as designed.
>> I live in Minnesota, where 1/3rd of the year is dark
Well that sounds like a perfect place to do solar! In all the places I've lived, it's dark a full half of the year - the locals call often call it "night".

Why wallow in the ditch with money - I'm sure the power will so abundant that we'll all find it too cheap to meter.
>> For Tesla, this represents an opportunity to jump-start its home solar business
Seriously, I know you need it to keep the Fed money flowing, but please dump the home solar BS and just concentrate on the one thing you do do well: build electric cars. Otherwise Telsa could easily become the next DeLorean.
>> "the Watch List," the app will recommend shows based on the content viewers access through their Apple TV
I seem to remember Netflix suggestions just showing up on my main content selection screen. Never having seen one, why does an Apple TV need a separate app to suggest TV shows to its viewers?
I thought Corel picked up Paint Shop Pro too. (I still installed/used PSP v6.2 on most of my personal machines until Paint.NET came along - that one copy I bought in the early 2000's has been a great value!)
Um...the thing that makes the Internet the Internet is that anyone with $100 or a computer can contribute something new, whether open source, artwork or, for a little more investment, hardware. Space has a significant barrier to entry that will keep the vast majority of us...er...grounded.
I disagree. Parents will hate it because kids will keep losing those damn controllers. Meanwhile gaming adults will hate the controllers because they have sharp edges that dig into their hands. And it there are any metal contacts (in the docking station, between controllers and pad, etc.) then everyone will hate it because they'll do nothing but wear out and get gummed up. (Remember the original consoles and blowing on the cartridges? Now add Cheetos-stained fingers if the contacts are on the controllers.)

>> in apple in-app purchases has an entry in restrictions also you can make it so any purchases ask for your password
Google has this too. However, it's safer to just never have your CC hooked up to a mobile account - period - so I just avoid Apple's ecosystem.
