    DIdn't I read (on SLashdot? Maybe Fark?) that putting duct tape on warts makes 'em go away?

    p.s. superglue works better for cuts than duct tape.

    I can get all the functionality of a PDA from a piece of paper. The only reaon I keep the Toshiba e330 I won is that it IS a fairly decent MP3 player. OTherwise it would have been on Ebay. The last thing I want anyway is to be constantly wired up so that idiots can call me and instant message me about problems they could solve themselves if they used their brains instead of their phones. Now go outside and play.

    No flame, but I guess you live such a pure and perfect life that you don't mind that if the information leaks out. Getting a divorce? The information will leak out somehow. Looking for a job? Someone will get your history.

    Isaac Asimov once wrote a story about a guy who invented a time machine, only you could just look back - everyone's mistakes, every time, their whole life. There forever, for anyone to see. Forever. This is what's wrong. THe system, being used by people, will be subverted, and there will be more and morereasons for looking at you and revealing your whole life. Like, I like to get drunk and post trolls on message boards every once in a while. This could easily be used out of context (as electronic posts are notioriously bad for being taken out of context. ALso the concept of sarcasm don't fly real good with email etc.

    filtering on earthlink in headers removes lots of spam, yet I can't send from my dsl server to an earthlink user

    See, there's this thing called the Encrypting File SYstem, if the user's logged on as a d2k domain user, good luck getting to an encrypted file, it uses PKI, again slashdotters hate Win, but don't know how it works.

    What a laff! Does anyone REALLY think Lucas went to Campbell BEFORE the films? NOT! Star wars owed way more to the old westerns (family killed, son becomes famous gunslinger - I mean Jedi- for revenge) than to Joseph Campbell. I guess most Slashdot readers don't remember a litle show called the Lone Ranger? This "mythology" garbage is just Lucas pasting a professorial veneer on a purely commercial project in order to look smart. campbell signed on for the cash.
