  1. RE: Story... on In Space No One Can Hear You Sigh · · Score: -1

The fundamental problem is lack of a compelling story in these games.

Games like System Shock or System Shock2 (Looking Glass Studios) had great stories at their core. Beautiful graphics, slick user interface and surround-sound should all serve the story of the game. If not, you have a game akin to those 200 million dollar, Hollywood blockbuster movies that tank 1 week after release...really beautiful to look at, but crappy story. A strong story in games is not optional. It's vital.

Perhaps he knew he was going to be leaving soon after the interview (conjecture, of course). Leaving the helmet on saved him .5 minutes. I'll bet he would consider that a worth-while time optimization.

...or maybe I'm just full of malarkey, and he just forgot he had it on. Whoops! :)

I think it just comes down to smart people not caring what others think, and just doing things the easiest way for them. Most people see this behavior as weird or eccentric.

I applaud the "not-caringness" of really smart people. Einstein had 7 identical suits; one for each day of the week. Is that weird? maybe. He just didn't want to waste time thinking about what he wanted to wear.
