you can get a liquid with a specific heat that is higher than water AND evaporates better... i heard they use it in super computers as they can dip the entire case in a tub of it and it wont conduct... too bad its $500 a gallon... dont remember what i heard it was... anyone know?
2.4.19-rc5 IS 2.4.19... it was deemed good enough and renamed... sorry but no difference... if you have rc5 no need to beat a dead horse and/. kernel.org
no no no im tired of hearing that over and over... people who break laws are criminals... a hacker OR cracker can use their skills in a legal or illegal way... why dont you just call them "computer criminals" or "malicious computer users"... the police are trained to know how to shoot people, does that make them criminals? computer experts can be very good at cracking without breaking laws (well other than the DMCA but thats another issue)... crackers are like hackers... black hats, white hats... same skills different motives...
nobody can make money bye giving them normal corn... bye giving them sterile GM corn or patented GM corn a company can make a lot of money in the future when they have to acquire a license for exporting gm products...
floppies werent cheap when they were introduced either... but because they were used in everything they became cheap... i agree with your idea that flash data disks are the best option to move to...
AGP 8x is good for applications that can use full screen anti-aliasing or other high bandwidth extras... with seemingly excessive amounts of bandwidth games will look better period
you dont need a license to own a pc... cars are very special because every second one is used its risking lives... we mostly accept these risks but control them... your computer at home is NOT going to harm anyone... the FCC DOES regulate any way that the computer can hurt anyone else and so i think that comparing cars to computer is not the best analogy... maybe if we write our congress critters (or whatever your system allows in canada) then we can get something done...
also they didn't add the mod chip for 'oomph' they added it and downplayed the pirated games to make it appear as though they can get you now for mod chipping... they want to scare people with this...
i am reading this from my 4th day of my vacation to Maui... gotta have my slashies... good thing im staying with family where i am going to install the newest mandrake on a duel 733;) i love vacations but i cant relax without my KDE every now and then...
i heard a story that goes like this... if someone can find the original (dunno if i read it or someone told me) please reply with link... anyway
"Way back in the day when the idea of a magnetic disc hard drive was fairly new the platter sized could get to be over 6 feet in diameter. These would get spinning very fast and because of their weight (hundreds of pounds) would carry quite a bit of momentum. One day a teacher decided to impress upon his student the power of this spinning disc and had it forcably clamped down. Of course if you know your laws of motion you might guess what happened. The disc lost quite a bit of spead so instead the rest of the computer started spinning... the computer spun like mad aroudn the room bashing into other cabinets and eventually slowing down spinning on the floor" i dont know if this is true or not but it sure seems like a good story to tell around the virtual campfire at a lan...
Do you really think if you just have your way with someone as soon as you get her clothes off and then fall asleep immediatly afterwards your going to be hearing about "i wanted you to kiss me"?;)
it's funny though that i have posted 333 comments and your the first one to point that out... maybe computer nerds ARE desensitized by nuke nukem...
the "x" rating is not how many times faster it spins... its how many times faster it transfers data... some crappy 50x drives really do spin at 50x faster but the better ones have 2 or 4 heads to they really run at 25x the speed or 13x the speed(for 52x)... this is why u go for asus or toshiba or some good name brand company when you get a cdrom... bad position of holes makes it so my crappy 50x cdrom really can only read 3/4 of the discs...
dvds are the same thing... a 1x dvd player is enough to stream the dvd onto a tv but a 8x/16x or whatever is better for ripping... a 8x dvd reader will actually transfer many times faster than an 8x cdrom becuase of the dvd format in which more data is read at the same time...
this unfortunatly is true is many other places... where i live all the cable providers went out of business because everyone went to DSL... cable's only good quality is the raw speed... many poeple choose it for this reason and are burned with otherwise crappy internet... personally there are two things that i never go cheap on that most others do, power supplies and internet access... sometimes you just cant go cheap
Why do people still complain about DSL service... go and get a REAL ISP like Speakeasy... personally i dont think cable is an option if you really want privacy and quality of service... cable by its very nature is internet for the lowest common denominator... Speakeasy doesn't care and actuially will provide SUPPORT for running home servers... good speeds and INCREDIBLE uptime... low latency, high thoroughput, and awsome tech support makes Speakeasy put EVERY opther ISP to shame...

i just listened to the song before i posted to make sure and he says "It all adds up to a fuckin' situation" not "fucked up" or "fucking" but "fuckin'"
if you could read japanese you would have noticed that the website says the high pressure parts of the water cooling system are in their own plastic container so if a leak is sprung it wont drip or cause a short circuit... you simply need to have it fixed... but its a pretty sweet laptop which WOULd be good for taking to meetings with its 802.11b lan built in and a smart card reader so only you can use it... one of the selling points of this laptop is a less than 30dB sound output which is "perfect for boardrooms"......so to sum this up... ooooooooo me want
they actually encourage home servers and sharing bandwidth... they give multiple static IP's and untill they run out EVERYONE who signs up get a static IP even if you pay less for a dynamic... they give extra bandwidth extra ip's and extra support... great stuff... personally i dont run servers from home other than personal ones because speakeasy runs all the rpmfind/Q3/DOD/CS/RTCW servers you couls want...
Speakeasy brags about their tracert results... its 2 hops to the backbone... that simple... their network is streamlined and efficient like a REAL ISP real be... Spekaeasy SDSL packages are sweet if you can pay that much... with rpmfind services hosted on their network you can get all your redhat/drake/whatever distro rpms at blazing speed...
regardless of what you use to cool the system a cpuy which runs hotter runs down the battery faster... some of the new laptops have battery lives of under and hour... i dont think so... what would be good is if some company came out with say a 500 mhz laptop which lasts a long time off the battery... i dont use laptops for gaming and i dont want to pay $3000 for one that DOES... get me a cheap system that can run office apps on the road...
Speaseasy is my ISP and althoug its not high upload its everything else... you get fast enough down and they are what a true ISP should be... they cost a little extra but *GASP* they give linux support... call em at 3:00AM and they have a linux techie waiting for you with no wait time... even during peak hours its only maybe 5 mins to get a person on the phone... personally for me internet is more than your "up" and "down" speeds... im tired of people wanting raw kbit speed when thats not what they even really use... low latency is most of the time a bigger issue as a high down really only helps thsoe divx files come down... when your latency is low your games run smooth and the pages load faster... is 512kbit going to feel slower than 1.5mbit when its a 10k page???
DONT rename your zip file of pr0n as.wav and try to mp3 it... it makes it real small but... well its like writing to NTFS form linux... you can do it and all will be fun but youlll never get your data back......ok ok orr ogg i said it put down the flame...

get a newer mandrake... with the default konq from 8.2 i have no problem loading the flash videos that appear exactly as they do in NS...
... or is this just another victory to be appealed away?... anyone know how well this can stand up in the future?
