If anyone know where to get these posters I would be grateful. Some of you will remember it. Lots of knights and a Wizard in the center. An updated one featuring some of the Linux distros would be nice too. However I think Linux was mentioned in the first.
It's almost the same type of plot. At least we won't be seeing another crappy hack job by the so-called greats of Hollywood (Spielberg, Lucas, et al). I would not put it past him to use Jessica Alba again. She's is the basic type for the role. I would watch it even if it was an Alan Smithee production
More like people need to clue up and learn that this isn't who we need to run it. What you call Experianced I call Tainted. It's like giving Ken Lay of Enron fame the job of running Iraq's oil supplies (which may happen anyway). You are welcome to believe the PR job, go right ahead. But you better hurry as The Walrus and the Carpenter are expecting you.
Finally a way to make internet web advertising profitable. Click or we throw you in the Clink.
Watch Ad-Aware be ruled illegal under Patriot Act in the first month. Steve Gibson will need to watch is back. Mandatory Spyware in the name of national 'defense'.
Wheel mice are great, only Solaris users really need three and even then wheels are usable under Solaris. Considering I am looking at a banner ad for mice I can only think this is astroturfing. Next we'll see you spouting off about the joys of using a one button mouse. Be gone ye layer of phony shrubbery.
Ha Ha, I am looking at your IP address on the Anonymous Coward IP database, this allows companies to sue retards like you who think they are posting without revealing their info.
I am asuming you got yourself a tax ID number and are getting notices about filing taxes. I too have a corp, I was planning to do great things. Opps, someone stupid got put in charge of the US economy. Just like with his father the economy when to #%@(!
I don't bother to file even though they send out notices. They used to send them out every three months now they send it out once a year. If your business isn't doing any economic activity it's not going to owe anything. Think of if just like when you where in school. You didn't have an income large enough to tax. If no employer used your social security number to pay you wages they have no record. That Tax ID is the same thing.
So don't sweat it. If you do however what to start using it to better effect, ask you boss if you can switch to 1099 and have your company (the one you own) pay you much less so you can keep more. That's what you where intending wasn't it?
Music will continue as a business this is just part of the cycle. But there will come a point when the big production isn't cost effective in most cases. Actually it's now. The number of active acts currently being pushed on radio has fallen. As the effect of a big media push isn't going as far, the labels are misinterpeting it as oversaturation. So the concentrate on the big money makers. Too many Acts deluting the limited buying power of the sheep (opps, record buying public). In some cases it's that Fad is just over, and in some it's just that you hear too much and you don't need to burn a copy, you got it in your head.
Smaller 'Indie' labels don't need to move 4 million units to show a profit. True social Darwinism.
Fair call, both realisticly are parasites. Both are competing for the same thing. One leverages money and connections (sociopolitical) the other uses technology and a corrupt spinoff of the Hacker Ethic. 'Information want's to be free' becomes 'Music wants to be free'. Hogwash. The victims are the Artists. Of the two The Record Companies at least provide backing for a vision. The P2P sharing only robs the robbers (RIAA etc) who will gobble up the profits from a Hit Record and claim it was all used for 'Return on Investment' the costs of putting the record out and losses form failures of others. I remember Amiee Mann (Till Tuesday) on NPR a few weeks ago talking about how Her one hit record still hasn't paid Her a dime.
I was in the Music industry for 10 years before I turned Hacker, it's true. The record companies just eat up all the money. Bands that make money do it from touring. A hit album is just free publicity. Don't expect to see a dime from it. Kim Thayil of Soundgarden once told me that he was making more as a Cook then what he got off their record.
Pete Wilson, Ex-Gov California claimed a billions for all the Illegal Aliens syphoning off California's wealth before his cronies could get to it. It was tossed, this will be too. However it does tend to make people think twice, while they will win, the RIAA will make them drain their bank accounts for legal fees. Defense funds will form and they too will suffer. The idea is to make everyone in favor of trading suffer somehow. Even if they lose this time the next time there will be fewer willing to donate. The Artists need to understand the the Record companies are not their friends. The make more without the even if they don't have a gold record
Can't do it, simple fact that it's the property of the pubisher not slashdot. If Slashdot went a did make copies of all the pages they were going to refer to they would get sued. Google does is as a cache. It's dicey, but if you refer to the google cache then google takes the hit. Most pages on the web with interesting content have banner ads. If you sent slashdotters to google then the ads don't get seen, the site loses money. Damned if you do, Damned if you don't.
Consider that many of us are out on our arses in this econonmy. I would think it's better then telling our real title, Dishwasher.
They've had these for years now.

Wireless VOIP?
·
· Score: 2, Interesting
They're called Cell phones. VoIP will be somewhat useless beyond the range of a local transmitter. You would get the same or better results from a cordless phone and it would cost a heck of a lot less. If someone started using UWB maybe.
In 2001 he was suppose to be a source of plot conflict, a plot twist about computers acting nuts. In 2010, he became a morality lesson about the internal conflict of a mind, any mind having to deal with 'Ethics' that are in direct opposition to one another. Clark didn't mean to illustrate a dilemma in a computer, HAL was intended to be someone some people could identify with.
If ever I saw a domain crying out for that status it's this. As a non-profit it could get backing by real big Linux companies and even bigger ones such as SUN and HP. Not to mention the Educational grants from various public and private foundations supporting the advancement of learning.

His name is Robert Paulsen

Oh wait, whiny liberals that's me. I wonder where we can get organically grown Lead.

We could use AOL disks placed strategically and bounce laser beams off them. Better then 802.11
Atleast the stories in Outlaw Star made sense.
Oh look, it's an AOL account. Should have know.

We should just ask them for copies of theirs.
If they are gonna be making DNA letter by letter, then hopefully someones gonna write a good spell checker.

But adding 802.11/Cell modem to a car computer is too easy. You get to add a really big antenna Still a nice bit of work folks.
My favorite is using that roar from Godzilla. At Three AM
Wardrive it and see which lights suddenly come on.
with Shakespeare's Macbeth, The claim could be made for Open Source has there are people still maintaining to project.
