OK, I am really getting tired of Slashdot moderations going 2 hell. This post is 100% off-topic, and its scored at +1. +1!!! WTF is that??? I've seen real posts get modded down to 0, or informative postst that never get modded, and this POS gets +1? Fsck that. I know i'm going 2 be modded down to high (low?) hell, but i dont care. This fscking blows.

Sorry, folks, but the mid-20s geeks who like violent and mature games are a minority. Parents are concerned about violence in video games (watch the news whenever there's a school shooting or other such incident.) Anyone (even Microsoft) knows that Sony has cornered the mature gamer market. This is why Nintendo has remained in the kiddy corner ever since the PS1 went live. Nintendo is not moving into online gaming at all. Online gaming will most likely pick up speed, at which point every kid across the country is going to want to play. When that happens, Microsoft will be ready.
Excuse me, what are YOU on? Sure, we were the minority...7 years ago! The current generation of gamers is majority (up to 70%) over the age of 18. Not only that , but violent / mature games DO sell...just look at the recent hits: MGS2, DMC, GTA3? Noooooo...violent / mature games don't sell, not at all...lamer. Oh yah, and one more thing...the new Resident Evil is VERY kiddy. So is the whole series, which is why its a Gamecube exclusive...

As for Mono, it is still a technology under development, and the GNOME project has not made a decision to adopt it in any way yet. Work on C# bindings for Gtk is progressing, however, so you will be able to write Gtk and, eventually, GNOME applications in C#.

This rocks! I was always worried that M$ was going to try and stiffle Java (and Open Source) by pushing for its replacement (C#) but now it looks like I won't have to pick sides, I can use C# for Linux AND Windoze dev.
Anything that makes my life easier gets my support. :)

Honestly though, what is this new Ipod? Its a 10 GB HDD that can play mp3 files. Last time i checked, a 10 GB HDD was nowhere NEAR the suggested $499...and the new USB 2.0 Hard Drives by Maxtor are much more exciting, with 40 GB of space, and its just as portable as the Ipod.
Lets check the stats on this:
    New 10 GB Ipod: $499, 10 GB Storage, Mac-only
    Maxtor USB 2.0 HDD: $299, 40 GB storage, Windows/*bsd/*nix.
    MP3 Player: $60
Hm, for more than $100 less, I get 30 GB more storage and MP3 capability...
    Which would you choose?
