It's time to start preparing for the inevitable warming of the planet. We've got some time but I'd start by banning any new construction in Florida and other low lying areas. Even by the most optimistic view the Paris Accords aren't going to do much, if any, good. It'll keep warming gradually for decades.
The CPU is separated from the Cellular Baseband. That alone makes it a great idea. A user controlled device. Nothing else fits that description, nothing in the world.
At walmart it's near instantaneous and other places nearly so. At smaller stores I have indeed waited a full minute or more for the transaction to process. I almost never use a card for any transaction less than 50 dollars so it's not a problem to wait occasionally but if you think it works great everywhere you haven't been anywhere much.
Presumably they worked when purchased so they paid 1800 for a TV that Samsung converted to a paperweight. I have to wonder, don't they test these updates on real sets?
I left home in 1979, got married and moved into an apartment. The first thing we did was get cable. Then we never watched it so we got rid of it. I went overseas to Spain and watched no TV at all for 2 years, rotated back to the states and got cable and seriously all we watched was MTV back when they played music. I went back overseas to Germany for 3 years and watched German TV and Armed Forces Network over the air. Came back to the states and got out of the Air Force with 2 kids about to start school so I did without cable for the next 2 decades. My kids bitched right up until they graduated from school. Now my Wife and I are retired and we have directTV and she loves it. I could care less about it but it's only 150 a month and I don't have kids blowing my budget anymore so it's no big deal. We have time now to watch it so it's okay but I really don't understand working people with kids wasting money on it.
It would make more sense. Kodi bans illegal plugins while MS is hosting them on it's app store. The insane crusade against Kodi makes zero sense. Android, Windows and other systems host piracy apps and do less to discourage it than Kodi does.
The last fighter to have actual cable control of flight surfaces is the F15. Everything since is fly by wire, lose the computers and you grab the handle and eject. I've seen an F15 lose all the electronics and basically turn into a very fast cessna running on VFR. The pilot followed I-75 at 5,000 feet to get to base.
300 miles at 80mph works out to almost 4 hours so 3 hours or so I'd look to stop and recharge. Not too shabby. Hook up to charge, take a leak and wash up a little. Grab a coke and a snack then hit the road again. Not bad at all.
The imperative is to justify an exorbitant cost. There are too many Android phones that are excellent for a reasonable price. To charge ridiculous money you need to be better in every way, not a few.
You need storage for a car. You can't drag a damn 300 mile cable around. hmmm...I guess they could do like they do with electric trains and put electrical grid in the pavement for the car to run on. I bet that'd be popular.
Hell no, I enjoy being hated. It warms the cockles of my heart to know that some ppl feel strongly enough about me to wish me ill. I can't think of anyone I actually hate. Most I don't even think of, they aren't worth the effort. Occasionally I like to jerk their chain and listen to them howl as it's amusing.
I want an app that does what I want without trying to take over my damn phone. I don't mind paying a reasonable price for that. I pay for FBreader app on Android because I've used it for many years on Linux and love it so when I found it on Android I gladly payed for premium version even though I really didn't need the premium, I just wanted to support the developer because it works without taking over my phone. I don't like apps that want access to things on my phone they don't really need and I get rid of them, free or not.
Thus Trump adds even more to global warming as CNN goes into a NOVA like meltdown. The permafrost is fucked.

The point being, in many places it isn't instantaneous as is claimed.

I don't think it's got a chance in hell. Look at what it offers. Privacy. All the World's corporations and governments will hate it. It's doomed.

If you want to actually own one you'll have to build it. DJI just sells you the right to fly it but it's not really yours.
Sadly, you may be joking but these companies now seem to think just like that.

300 mile range would mean at least one or more likely two stops. That's not really a bad deal.

So we wait for technology to solve this problem and keep buying gas.

Damn. That sounds dystopian. I like it.
Kind of a win-win. Plus over population will cease to be a thing.

I don't know why we're trying to save the Earth when we're just going to blow it up in a Nuclear Holocaust anyway.
Watch Vanishing Point. It has much the same effect.
In that case lets put the lead back in gasoline. I miss the 97 octane stuff anyway, I had to reduce the timing on my 383 Duster.
All we're waiting on is the damn batteries. Once we have the battery storage at an economical price the gas engine will be obsolete.
