It was a dumb comment but no less than your ignorant one of "typically lesser performance." I use linux primarily but I keep a mac mini for video work. I've found nothing better for video and photo editing than the overpirced apple equipment with it's quirky OS. I've used linux for this task but the software available there is lacking in many areas and as for windows I refuse to torture myself. Keeping it operating is a full time job. I have one windows laptop with XP for the controller software for my race car. Since I use it for absolutely nothing else and never attach it to the network it works fine for that. The machines at work require a full blown IT department just to keep about 80 to 90 percent of them running. To be fair we have some idiots using them but I've never seen such garbage for the money spent on licensing. Linux gives it's share of problems but hey, it's free! My Mac has never once given me any trouble whatsoever. It's flawless just like the macbook berfore it, the powerbook before that, and the Dual G4 tower I started video editing with. Yes, Macs are expensive. Perhaps even overpriced. It's nice to have something that never, ever lets you down though.
Really the problem is software patents. I think everyone can understand mechanical and chemical innovations being patented but software just doesn't seem to work as well under the patent system. Maybe if they just let copyright cover software it would solve most of the problem.
If the big guys were smart they'd defend the little guys and stop it dead before they could get the ball rolling. It's a lot easier to stomp this kind of stuff out before they build a war chest from suing the small fry and get momentum on their side.
It's an evil world full of evil people. Think Polly Purebread is gonna survive? All governments have secret organizations that wage secret wars against others....or they're just victims and get tromped on by the big boys. Name one major country that doesn't engage in this kind of activity.
ah coward, I lick no boots. Believing that when someone puts on the uniform, raises his right hand and swears an oath of loyalty that he should be held to it is not boot licking. It's the way civilization works. What you propose, that every man is a law unto himself, is anarchy.
To be fair it did look strange that immediately after the release of the documents he was accused of rape. I don't know what he did or didn't do but my credibility alarmed pinged.
Say what you want but a lot of people were put in danger and some actually died due to Manning's treason. If they don't execute him then they should never execute anyone. The man violated the trust placed in him.
So the man was tested time after time after time for years with people out to get him for most of that time. The French in particular were screaming that he was cheating. I think to say that they couldn't catch him for well over a decade knowing that they were desperately trying is unbelievable. Your position is far more naive than mine. I simply believe that liars can't be believed. How naive is that?
The sworn statements of people caught doping is of virtually no value at all. Once caught they'll swear to any thing you want them to. They are allready proven liars so why even bother with them?
One thing you can be sure of and that is that "war is coming" is an absolutely true statement. When and where may be up in the air but not the if. As long as humans inhabit this planet there will be wars.
There was a butt bomber about 3 stalls down from me in the shit house last week. He ran in and rendered the entire shit house uninhabitable for several hours. I'm sure it was a weapon of mass destruction he used. Not sure what was with the screaming though....perhaps trying to intimidate.
Foam at the mouth like this much? Maybe some Xanex or something would help. I wouldn't call the F-22 a piece of shit but it looks like the cost of maintenance will be astronomical. I'd just call it overpriced and underwhelming.
I apologize. No one should be allowed to grope or physically molest anyone. I'm a little tired and misunderstood what had occurred. Again I do apologize for the language and tone of my response.
I'm wondering where you read that I said having a clean environment is useless? It's a fact that EPA regulations cost US businesses incredible sums of money to comply with not to mention more money for non-compliance issues. It's also a fact that many companies build factories overseas in places where the environmental regulations are lax or non-existent so that they can save money by avoiding EPA regs and as a bonus they also avoid US labor and safey regulations as well. It's a fact that they ship these products into the US to compete with US manufactured goods. I think having a clean environment is vital....but so is putting food on the table. Something has to give. If you can't see that right now then a decade or so down the road when the US economy finally totally collapses you'll see it then.
I believe having a portfolio full of bullshit obvious, vague and simple patents and using them to intimidate and vanquish competition qualifies as trolling as well.

I hardly expect citizens of foreign countries to worry about US security. That was Manning's job.
Say what you want but a lot of people were put in danger and some actually died due to Manning's treason. If they don't execute him then they should never execute anyone. The man violated the trust placed in him.
I think the decision was made to ban him whether they could find proof or not. Hear say was good enough.

I'd love to have a mini-ITX with a quad i7! I didn't even think about the possibility but here it is! http://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-3770S-Bridge-Mini-ITX-Z77ITX-A-E/dp/B0089GQFII and it's even slightly cheaper than my mini with better specs. Mass transcoding just gets cheaper and cheaper.
That's what my Mac Mini is for. Transcoding video is trivial now with a quad i7.

I dunno, we've got lots of spare generals laying around. It's not like anyone would miss a few.
F-22's have not proven themselves in combat yet.
It's really just a test bed for scramjet research. It's a long way to an actual manned version.

What, someone gets their feelings hurt and you lock away the offender? Over some hurt feelings? Really? Fuck you.

and be crowned King Nothing!
