Hmmmm....I don't know. I doubt they had to make it up. There are a certain percentage of nutcases in any group, although of course the ecomentals feel that they are exempt from this. I'm sure when they start talking about taxing people to stop the earth from warming there are enough real people to get incensed and that some of them will get the bright idea to shoot a scientist or two. The smug superior way the elites have of talking down to their inferiors (everyone who disagrees with them) almost insure they'll enrage somebody into doing this kind of idiocy. The best way to counter the ecomentals is to just stress how much letting them have their way is going to cost. Most people don't like getting ripped off and that's all this is at it's heart, a rip off.
Hehe....kind of like the early catholic church torturing people to death to save their souls, eh? Now we take people's money away to keep them from buying gas and electricity and harming the environment. Yep....better get their guns first though, I don't think they'll love you for it.
Just like with religious people there are many different types of atheists. Not all, heck not even many are of the type you describe. I know I cringe when I see people on TV claiming to speak in God's name about things and they are full of hatred and anger. These two things have no place in Christianity as Christ commanded us to love those that hate us. It's hard to do sometimes but all that hatred is a poison to the soul. Most atheists I find hate any mention of God and react almost violently to any mention of him. I see little reason from them and a lack of any willingness to debate. Unfortunately I see the same from so many claiming to be Christians and that hurts me far more.
The anger and hatred isn't over the science. It's about taxes. People get tired of being taxed to death. Here in the US they had terrorists throwing tea in the harbor over the tea tax back a few years ago. I think they were the neo-cons who started the whole tea party thing.
Agreed! A plague on both parties! This is the problem with US politics, the two party shuffle. Too bad the sheeple will never figure out that they are being divided and conquered. The powers behind both parties just keep picking two sides of different issues to get people fighting over so they never notice their wealth and their future are going down the drain. The same people who denounce President Obama now will, if he gets replaced with a republican, praise that one as he continues the job of ripping off the country.
I remember when HP was THE hardware company that ruled. I remember seeing a photo of a Japanese R&D shop back in the 80's that featured HP test equipment. Everything HP made screamed quality and performance. Too bad they died off. I wish that zombie that uses their name would go away.
You can pretty much count on it that someone will abuse the law. I'm certain that it's not intended for the average person lip-syncing for his friends on youtube but you can bet some people will get charged by some idiot or other.
You still shouldn't respond to the bastard. People that hide behind anon just so they can belittle others don't deserve any recognition or respect. Right or wrong, Fuck him.
The fact is that the MegaCorps have taken over and are running the government. I remember when President Obama got elected and I thought that, despite the fact that I didn't like a lot of his politics that at least some things would change (such as wiretapping laws) but in fact every single thing I disliked about the previous administration continued virtually unchanged. He's not even a good liberal. He's owned just like the last one was owned. The puppet changed but not the puppet master.
Indeed. Government is a necessary evil. That government is best which governs least. The kind of thing you don't hear much anymore as it's gone out of style.
You know how it is. Anytime records are sealed people always wonder about it. The conjecture usually is worse than the truth though. That's why sealing records mostly seems to do more harm than good. The best bet is to just be open and deal with whatever the issue is. I put this forward as a guess at a possible reason for keeping things secret. It's based on the point that some members of the administration have in the past expressed admiration for Mao and his policies. I might be wrong, it is just a guess. It's a better one than that his grades sucked though. He could hardly have graduated with honors if his grades weren't good.
If the samsung came with something like Meego or one of the touchscreen linux distros I'd be more interested. I'm underwhelmed by Android. The more I see it the less I like it. It's okay for phones but on larger devices it's not so good.
More than likely the records are sealed because he's got dissertation's about what a great hero Lenin and Mao were. Considering it's Harvard that would have made him extremely popular on campus but wouldn't fly so well with many US voters. I know he's reported to have graduated in the top 10 percent so it must be the fact that his school writings wouldn't do well with the general public.
I know Bill O'reilly gives short shrift to anyone bring up crap about President Obama's birth. He generally just cuts them off. I'm sure he's looked into it and realizes that it's a non-issue. I wish everyone else would give it up too as I'm about sick of hearing about it. If they can't find enough to criticize with the shithole the economy is in and the determination the administration seems to have to finish it off as soon as possible then they need to just quit and go home. At this point I don't give a shit if he was born on Mars. Do something about the deficit already.
Oh come on. You know better. President Obama is their (NYTimes') guy. They worship him and they'd never do anything to smirch his reputation. Palin is their enemy. They hate her and her family and would do anything at all to smear her. I'm pretty ambivalent about the whole thing. Sarah Palin is fake and about as real as President Obama. I really could care less about either of them but I find it amusing that people get upset about these professional hucksters getting ridiculed as they deserve.
The problem with doing that is they will be destroying a big segment of their market. When the US economy revamped and recovered they'd find it might be a lot more competitive also. Best to leave sleeping dogs alone.
Killing the internet wont stop file sharing. We made copies of cassettes before the internet became a household phenomena and if they kill it we'll burn copies of movies and cd's.
The problem with modern libertarianism is there are no real repercussions for this kind of behavior. IF they were to take all the board members of Tokyo Electric Power Co. out to a rice patty and shoot them in their heads then maybe other power companies might think twice before getting sloppy. Really the damage they've caused warrants it.
I have to admit that MS has stayed with it in the console war. They just keep plugging away and away at it. All the blood and sweat, all the mistakes and finally it's starting to look like they will overcome Sony. Sony had it all but they've just sat on their asses.
Now to ban hockey sticks.

And now you know why people want to shoot scientists. All too many of them have your attitude.

Are you implying that guns don't kill people...that people kill people? Careful or you'll be labeled a neo-conservative kook!

hehe...stay anonymous there...coward. :)
That's one strange bunch of clowns.

Maybe solving the problems with the deficit and housing/jobs aren't mutually exclusive?
