I think you are right. A lot of very creative people now are free to just use the hardware without having to fight against the deliberate crippling of the hardware by it's creators. You'd see someone hack the Playstation to get it to do cool stuff and then a firmware update would wipe that out.

As long as it doesn't go off like Krakatoa did in 1883. That pretty much obliterated the entire Island killing many miles away. Some of the pyroclastic flows reached the Sumatran coast 25 miles away, having apparently moved across the water on a cushion of superheated steam. That would be "the big one."

I had a facebook account 10 years ago. I almost never posted on it and just used it to look at pix and videos my kids posted of my grand children. It finally got to be too big a pain in the ass though. I deleted it and 90% of my SPAM disappeared. I felt like I was being assaulted. Too bad, I can see where it might be fun if it wasn't for the way they try to take over your life.

  11. This is nothing new. Governments propagandize. We do it as well and have for decades. I'm not sure why it's such a big deal now, I guess because the US media that overwhelmingly supported Clinton, first against The Bern and then even more stridently against Trump, got outplayed. Propaganda, in the eyes of the MSM, is their monopoly in the USA.

The reason this is so easy is that only a total fucking idiot would do it. There is no way to get away with this. Yes, you can run amuck for a few weeks, then your life will be totally destroyed. I might try this if I had terminal cancer and was going to die very soon, and no conscience. The costs to make this impossible are vastly higher than the minor damage done by the occasional fool.
