I remember we had a "militia" group in Georgia a couple of decades ago. A bunch of loudmouths who got together to drink beer and bitch about the "Gubmint" and shoot guns at targets. They had a guy join up and he had all kinds of neat ideas about how to build bombs. He helped them source some stuff and build the bombs then they were arrested. I felt no pity for them, anyone building bombs needs to be in jail.
I remember some of the stuff that I had in a chemistry set back in the 60's that I got for Christmas when I was 10. It would get me on a watch list today if I ordered that stuff. I did blow some stuff up back then but it was out in the back 40, not in my house. My mom didn't let me cook up stuff in her kitchen.
More RAM is only needed for stuff that the Pi sucks at anyway. It uses more power on a device where every micro amp is jealously hoarded. As for power ANY good quality cell charger works fine with it. They're dirt cheap. The Pi is all about frugality. I've got a Mac Pro with 12 cores and 64GB of RAM already but I can't stick that under the eaves of my house with a Pi NOIR camera and run it off of a solar panel and battery.
My local Energy co-op buys power from the grid. The last few years though they've been installing solar panels by the thousands. Hundreds of acres of land that once grew cotton now have solar panels on them. In South Georgia it gets hot and humid for most of the year and peak power demands used to strain the system. Now when it's at it's hottest the solar panels deliver the maximum electricity so they don't have to buy more power to cover the peak season. My price per Kwh hasn't gone up in a decade.
Total arrogance is a kind of stupidity. This ass assumed he could get away with this crap because he's "special." The problem is, the stock market is one of the few places where elites get burned just like anyone else. If you blatantly screw the system the system will screw you no matter who you are. Martha Stewart found this out. She got caught up in insider trading and although the Feds case against her was weak they managed to put her in jail for lying to investigators. If you fuck with the sacred cow of Wall Street they will fuck you back.
Most projects don't need more RAM. I don't use the pi as a desktop and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone for that use. I've got an old core2duo 2.8ghz laptop with 4GB of RAM and 500GB drive I picked up for 50 bucks that serves most of my surfing needs. The pi can't compete with that but the laptop can't do what the pi can do either.
It's a great little device for lots of purposes. For other things it sucks. You pick the tool for the job. Try hanging an Amiga 500 from a tree limb with a camera and cell modem hooked to a solar charging unit. Try doing it for an almost throw away price. There are hundred of other uses I've seen for the Pi. It's helped thousands of creative people make their projects viable at a cheap price.
It depends on what you want to do. For a lot of projects the original pi is sufficient but not all improvements are speed related. I'd at least go with a 2B+ or a Pi Zero if I was worried about power constraints and didn't need a lot of CPU. I do still have 2 original Pi units in use as surveillance cams but have been thinking of replacing them with the zero W units.
I had to pay someone to watch them every morning and make sure they hit the school bus. That's the burden of having kids, fortunately they make up for it in so many other ways. I didn't have to pay anyone to watch them after school though so it was only half a problem.
You've got a point. I've always had a job. Now I retired early and I play at repairing cars. I easily make up the money I lost by retiring early and I get up when I damn well please. I busted my ass to get to this point working many times for months without a day off. Yes, I'm a privileged mother fucker. I don't have a Rolex and my car is a 10 year old Grand Marquis but I own my house and cars free and clear, all it took was decades of hard work.
If you make a phone that's secure and market it that's not illegal. If you have a drug cartel come and ask you to customize a phone just so they can evade the cops that's a different matter. I'm surprised how lazy the cartels are. They've got tons of cash, they can afford to hire some bright guys to come up with their own communication system. I'd keep all that in house anyway, you can't trust these CEOs not to sell you out.
It's crazy anyway. Why not just get up earlier? For decades I worked from 6 to 2:30. When I got off work I had plenty of daylight. My kids got out of school at 3:15 and I picked them up on the way home. No problems. Then one day my work decided that 6 was too early despite the fact the work force had come to love it. Our new manager didn't like getting up that early and shit on all of us.
Goodbye Moto! I remember the head of Motorola years ago saying if you wanted to root a phone buy a phone from someone else. I followed his advice as did a lot of other people. Always good to see arrogant asses fail.
Asking troops to slaughter US civilians might get a little dicey. Even SWAT teams might start to balk. It's one thing to go after a bank robber holding hostages. To kill women and kids you need someone like the BATF.
What's really funny is watching all these people that claim Trump is worse than Hitler, the most evil creature ever, and then they want him to confiscate all private firearms. Pure idiots.
The oldest LED bulb I have is 5 years old. I guess I'll have to see how long it lasts. When I moved I took all the incandescent bulbs from my new house and swapped them out with the LEDs from my old one. Only time I ever moved and worried about bringing the bulbs with me!
Exactly, my power usage has dropped a lot from 10 years ago. LED lighting, CRT TV replaced with one that uses a fraction of the power, much more efficient heat pump and refrigerator and washer/dryer combo. The computer I use as well is about half the power drain, not to mention moving from a CRT monitor to an LED one which is a huge savings as well. My power bill used to hit 500-550 in the summer and now it's seldom over 300 dollars. My biggest power drain now is the hot water system and I plan to do something about that this year.
You must be on some very serious meds. I hate to tell you but the people that run the world aren't going to let go of their control. Quite the contrary. Soon you wont be able to use cash even. If they hate that you know they're not putting up with decentralized digital cash.

He went to a Christian college. I bet God was telling him to knock it off and he didn't listen so God turned up the volume.

It's better than manipulating time. It's ridiculous to change the time twice a year. It causes problems everywhere.

That's actually worse. Better a 5.56 than that big round the M1 fires.

They had rocks against M-16s. That's not a good idea.

360 Terabytes should be more than enough storage for anyone.
Bank of America is the worst bank ever. I've never seen anything that bad in my 58 years on this earth.

Do they do any real work at Google anymore or just write weird memos about social justice all day?
