Where I work we use these iris scanners. I wear glasses for my astigmatism and the system reads just fine through my glasses, unless I turn them perpendicular to my face. Other people who work here have to remove their glasses regardless.
This guy just proved you can't walk to the North pole solo. Oh sure, perhaps you can do it alone, meaning noone closer than Canada, but quite obviously one needs a rescue crew on standby if they want to live through the attempt.
If he really wants to do this solo, next time he gets in trouble, he should walk back on his own... then I'd be impressed.

Ideas and implementations which exist in our current tech world, exist in a hostile world, where the single greatest threat comes from the "subpoena attack". Those devices and implementations which are immune to this attack are the ones which will thrive and survive.
If it hadn't been for the destruction of Napster, I doubt there would be the flurishing of the Gnutella clients we see today. And IMHO, although Napster was great for music, Gnucleus is a far better tool for sharing information/entertainment than Napster ever was, or could ever hope to become.

I think its worth taking note this wasn't any kind of split decision on the court's part. No decension among the ranks, 9-0 is a strong decision.
