Mac OS X's innate support for CD and DVD burning? Why aren't you using that? Given: there are a few advanced features it doesn't currently offer, but they are rarely needed. And if you need them that often, you should send Apple some feedback about it.
DRM is one reason I've switched to the Mac -- mainly Microsoft's product (de)activation present in their XP products.
Where can I get a DVD with 65 minutes of Britney Spears sucking?!? Dammit, man! Provide a link!

Yes, it is. That is much more complex. First, you have to leave you desktop and go into your software install application, then you have to look for the application you want to install (check it), and then add that as a cron job.
On the Mac you just download your application to your desktop, drag the icon to your Applications folder and you're done. Or, if you're installing from a CD you drag the icon from the CD to your Applications folder and you're done.
They've been sitting on a heaping pile of money for a long time now. They had a large pile of money back when everyone thought Microsoft "bailed them out" with a measly investment of $150 million.
I guess they're trying to fight fire with fire. After all, Microsoft bought Bungie while Bungie was working on Halo (which would have been a Mac game first) and changed the targeted platform from a Mac to the XBox. For a long time Bungie said they were no longer working on a Mac or PC port. I think they got enough mail to make someone at Microsoft reconsider and now Mac and PC versions of Halo have been elevated to vaporware status.
This morning I saw the press secretary talking about how ridiculous this ruling is. He gave examples of many other ways that we currently violate the constitution as if two (or multiple) wrongs make a right. It's just sad to see a nation adopt of the most despised properties of another nation that it is at "war" with.
I really would like to suggest that if people don't like the constitution because it doesn't allow for a government sanctioned religion that they move to a country that allows that: like Afghanistan or something. Maybe they'll be fortunate enough to find a country with a sanctioned religion that corresponds exactly to their narrow beliefs.
Well, honestly, they do suck. How much do they get paid an hour? And they still can't tell the difference between someone re-distributing warez and someone distributing a reverse-engineered virtual machine?
Does anyone know why the Two Towers teaser isn't up at apple.com/trailers/? They've used Apple for all of their other stuff. It seems odd for them to change now.
Go to a site that uses java.... up pops a window saying "you need a java VM - wanna download one?" Say yes --- it's downloaded from MS and life goes on. Same thing with flash or a bazillion other plugins.
If you read the article, you would have noticed that the download on demand feature you mention is being removed by Microsoft in favor of including a very old JVM with Windows XP. It appears that Microsoft plans to not deal with JVMs at all in Windows SCKS (their new version of Windows).
You must've also missed the fact that they're asking submissions be submitted in.icns and.tiff formats.
But that's beside the fact. They're mainly interested in people porting free software to the Mac and beautifying some of the horrible designs along the way. Therefore, they don't need to supply the icons in PNG since they'll be used as.icns anyway.
Blizzard (through Vivendi) is accountable to its shareholders. This means, as a corporation, they are legally obligated to protect their property and assets, and also obligated to select a tested, proven business model which represents a minimal risk and maximal chance of profit.
This is something that has been forgotten by many. The best way to ensure profits for your shareholders is to concentrate on serving your customers.
BTW, Carmack has also stated that id's management and (I think) even other founding members are against opening old code. It's through Carmack's sole perseverence that the code was opened.

Much easier.
Godwin's Law is BS.

It uses "God" as a proper noun, not "god" as a pronoun. Plus, you're forgetting atheists and agnostics.
Maybe it should say "under trolls".

I was talking about LAWYERS that are paid to know the difference between things to litigate and things to not litigate.
You sir, are "stupidateloitacioughter."

If the code is so bad, why did Microsoft feel that they had to steal it?

You can create templates without the use of VBA. Also, VBA is not a part of Word. Word hosts VBA.
Why are you using a scripting language in your word processor?
It sounds like this allows you to use JavaScript in place of AppleScript to script your system and applications. But, that's just a WAG.

Hmmm... If I buy it, I guess I'll buy it from Apple's store regardless of price so that the sell will count towards Mac sales figures.
Nice non-response.
If it doesn't paste in there it is because of a bug. The next time you reboot the icon should have been replaced.
I only have this happen with a very few files.
Ugh, if you're so into Open Source you wouldn't be whining because every little thing wasn't done for you already!
The site caters to Mac users. Therefore, the Open Source icons cater to Open Source Mac developers.
If you want to use them with something else find a program to extract the images!
