an ncurses interface *is* a GUI, it's got buttons, windows, etc. What he seems to mean is that it doesn't have gpm running during the install, nor does it use an X-window, directfb or similar program with the installer.
a non-gui interface would be one in which you use a command line and have to type all the arguements and paths there...
So it can be preserved in it's natural state for people eons from nnow to admire, if the sun still happens to not have blown up?
The remote chance that life may develop there in the far future?
Maybe we should tear down all man-made structures into their components and kill off the human race in the chance something "better" develops later on?
hm... the way I've done it twice recently is to get to the point where it's about to fetch things to install, alt-f2 over to another tty and have it include testing and unstable...(that way there's nearly no replacing of packages...)
Debian woody may be outdated, but KDE-3.2.1 was in sid before the news hit slashdot... (installed it on a friend's debian sid the friday before in fact...)
Let's say you're sitting at a Starbucks, drinking some coffee. You hear a song over the speakers you happen to like. All you have to do is call out: "Could I get this on a CD, please?" They burn you the CD. On your way out (or right then) you pick it up... It works perfectly together...
I'm sorry, and I know I'll get flamed for this, but Gentoo... it's a linux distribution using a ports-like package management system... and most users use it for the desktop...
VLC is a Video Lan Client
while
VNC is Virtual Network Computing
neither of my two local PBS stations will be airing it...(according to the web site...)
Kind of like the Nova (automobile) not selling well in Mexico? (No va ~= "won't go")
For another thing this post has been reposted several times over the past year at least...
Many of the battles in the anime "Legend of the Galactic Heroes" are quite good, especially for a late 80s show http://logh.net for more info

I was being rather facetious about the whole thing anyway...
If there's no life there, why not terraform it?

I use KOffice...
And here I was expecting this to be something when run through a binary->ASCII converter like the one at http://nickciske.com/tools/binary.php
0 000100001001 0010010100111101010011
A real picture of LinuxBIOS:
0100110001101001011011100111010101111
Or using illegal copies of an MS OS so you can develop software that runs only on it...
Maybe they used a computer to print out seperate forms for each one? The restriction was against all-in-one subpoenas IIRC...
Maybe they didn't like the article summary?
If they're suing specifically over kernel code, why do you call it gnu/linux?

There could also be tiers of RSS feeds the way NTP servers are currently set up, so that they autosync periodically...
If you'll check the links in the summary, they do have a representative from ID Software...

although: Slashcode has a recent article on the subject...
And maybe if they'd applied those changes to slashcode it would be implemented, who knows... but no, they just created a mock-up...
there's also of course, news.com.com

Fine then, we just have to sell 10GB portable music devices with non-removable memory!
