Is there a store that is shop lifting proof?

Why do stores have security guards and cameras? Are there any stores theft proof?
To limit theft.
This is such a retarded argument. OK we steal music. But using this analogy to
defend it is kinda retarded. Wasn't it reported yesterday that ITMS sold its
one billionth song.
Add a wing, something that deploys like an F-14. It's initially swept back for high speed/storage. Use gentle scissors to bleed speed. Extend as needed to increase lift in the thin atmosphere. Then go from there.
In a similar vein I'd like to see how one gets Ruby to talk to MySQL 5.0.41 on Windows. There's a gem (mysql 2.7.3) for talking to 5.0.27 but I can't find the installer and it doesn't work w/MySQL 5.0.41. The only work around is to use the mysql 2.7.1 gem and stick w/Mysql 4.1.22
The persons best to speak about these claims are those currently using them.
So far I've not heard any mentions of current US soldiers in Iraq are throwing away the M4 in search of AK's
Blackboard. OLPC is designed provide more than just a computer. It'll be a textbook, library, play video, link to scarce resources, link to the world. It can even be used by the parents of these kids to lookup agricultural processes, how to build a pump to get clean water, medical information, lobby the UN and world bank for money, info on micro loans, check to see if their government is lying to them.
That's all nice and well, looks good on paper and flows well on a university whiteboard. Has any study been done to show this is how these kids will use it in the wild? How will the teachers use them? It seems a whole lot of money is being spent but no one has shown what really happens other than saying what ought to happen. They're not the same thing.
In industry we'll do focus group studies with preproduction or similar devices. Often what you get is very very different than what was expected.
Don't flame me I know little about either..
Would it be fair that children in the ghettos would
similarly treat their new laptops the same as kids
in the third world?
Has any kind of user testing been done to show what
these kids would really get from it.
IMHO computers in the classroom is highly overrated.
From my observation kids end up using the computers
to waste time, surf web, play games. Not that there
isn't learning going on. But more often detracts from
the lesson that is being taught.

from digg..
Much has been written about Microsoft's allegation of patent infringements in Linux (by which I'm sure they mean GNU/Linux;-) ). I don't think Microsoft is the real threat, and in fact, I think Microsoft and the Linux community will actually end up fighting on the same side of this issue.....
And I'm pretty certain that, within a few years, Microsoft themselves will be strong advocates against software patents. Why? Because Microsoft is irrevocably committed to shipping new software every year, and software patents represent landmines in their roadmap which they are going to step on, like it or not, with increasing regularity. They can't sit on the sidelines of the software game - they actually have to ship new products. And every time they do that, they risk stepping on a patent landmine.
They are a perfect target - they have deep pockets, and they have no option but to negotiate a settlement, or go to court, when confronted with a patent suit...

Help me out.. my understanding of a hybrid system was to bring performance
to what are normally gutless high mpg 5spd low HP gas engines.
If we only focused on high MPG then your 3cyl Geo Metro should of sufficed.
But they sold poorly because they're gutless and for many reasons the market
are not receptive to driving stick.
A lot of folks keep bringing up the VW TDI diesels. But I looked at the performance
numbers (ie 0-70 from consumer reports and the prius has better numbers).
Are we to only focus on MPG becuase in the past they didn't sell well. Then again
that was when gas was cheap. Will the market forgo performance for high MPG?
BS.. cuz if linux does it, if Apple does it.. it's called innovation??
Look Microsoft tried to appease the EU w/Windows w/o WMP and guess what,
nobody bought it!!
The headline smacks of DIGG feel good fluff piece. $200k is chump chain.
Why are the industry freaking??? If anything they're going to be making more money. Just like the "clean air" additives blue state require of gas sellers, gas sellers responded by jacking up the price.
If PDBE companies makes the alternative chemicals where again is the panic?
Anyone who has ever attended college only need look at where the graduation ceremonies are held.
Engineers get dinky basketball gymnasium.
Business gets school coliseum.

it reinvented itself, you might of heard it, it calls itself Google.
Next to be trademarked APOPS, Apple Proprietary OSX Printing System.
I like WinXP, .NET, MS mouse and keyboard. Seems more than "marketing" to me.

I've yet to meet a plastic package that has yet defeated a good pair of kitchen shears/scissors.
Using the right tool for the job is half the battle.
