Those cars that did get high mpg did so without the encumbrance of modern regulation.
Mainly a 4 banger, manual transmission and a very light shell. The reason they didn't sell
was one many people don't like 5 speed. The engines were gutless averaging roughly 70 hp.
The ride was harsh, the interior noisy. Driving in windy condition and rain you might as
well turn on the blinkers cuz sometimes your car just wants to be in the other lane.
All that said they made for very fun cars if you're like me and love working the gears.
Many people unfortunately do not. They love automatic. They love the torque of 6 cyl. They
don't want to hear the engine work.
It's not DRM. As I understand it in vista codecs are no longer shared between application. So if you install WinDVD in XP that codec can be used by anyone to play DVDs. In vista this is no longer the case.
commies & nukes are so much more pleasant. In the 50's the environment was much more polluted especially in the rust belt. People have it so much better now. But you wouldn't know it from the internets.
no one says you can't do both. It's like paying for cable,
you watch the shows. But for the ones you really like
you go out and buy the dvd, rip it, download it whatever
floats your boat.
Those cars were mainly tin cans with low hp engine and a manual transmission; if it was getting 44 mpg's.
In order to get any performance out of them you really have to work the gears, which Joe public refuse to do. That's why so many people favor 6 cyl cars in automatic. Honda for a while got a lot of heat because they didn't offer a 6 cyl in their line up.
The biggest issue w/light cars were driving in the freeway w/mild to heavy crosswind. The car starts to oscillate developing its own harmonics. Sometimes you just hit your blinkers and change into the lane the wind wants you to go. Old VW Bug owners might know what that feels like.
Can anyone comment on how much damage if any, the vibration from said ride on {trains, subway & bus especially buses} does to a laptop HD.
I've been commuting by bus and often times I get short period of harsh jarring. I had one HD go bad on me. I am suspecting it was from the vibration from the bus commute.
This to me sounds suspiciously a lot like something Google would want to be made popular. If it works it pretty much sidelines any advantage of having an OS.
The point of sending people to different planet is that it presents all sorts of new engineering challenges that otherwise would not get any attention. It's one thing to talk about putting a man on mars, it's another to build an entire system that does that. The pay off in the end, is that now as a nation, you have industries capable of doing/creating something no one else can.
For all the scare about China and its factories. There is nothing made in China that can't be made anywhere else. They just happen to do it cheaper.
It started with the Betamax. They're like the retarded cousin of Apple, always wanting to lock people down to Sony hardware but never figured out how to do it properly.
Ever watch sports, it's the same damn thing over and over again. - grind

Very unlikely if they're sticking to the initial pricetag of $40,000.00 At that price point you can almost get 2 Prius.

Too late, I think Putins KGB/GRU has them under contract.

maybe they should work on those first.
I kinda like Frosy Flip. It's simple and quick but hard to master which seems to elude a lot of game maker. http://www.teagames.com/games/frostyflips/play.php
Reads like a new employees training video.. without the music.
bringing together a coalesce of nutjobs from yahoo comments, digg, reddit, battle.net, web 2.0, etc etc etc
Blame MSM all you want but at least when someone reports something stupid their is a name that can be held accountable.
The anonymous internet... not so much. No matter how good the intention, any internet social site without moderation, will end up as fetid sewage.
