We get this a lot, there's many images out there that'll make quicktime crash. We have an image board for showing things we're talking about, when we hit a "bad" image all the windows users disappear (crash) at the same time. A responsible Linux or Mac user then removes the image so they can return;)
Yes, and this introduces many useless votes into the system. I have friends who "voted for the old short guy, because that fat guy looks sleazy". That vote had the same amount voting power as the next person that actually took the time to do some research, really think about it, and make an informed decision.
We checked SPF on all incoming mail to our ISP, it worked for a while, but eventually it wasn't worth the effort of dealing with legit mis-configured companies. Not to mention the fact customers wouldn't believe it wasn't our fault. Yes even banks make mistakes.
My nvidia 6600GT card worked fine in windows, however had what i recognised as overclocking errors in X. I found out by default Asus was overclocking my card, I disabled that and it worked fine. About 6% i believe it was from memory.
Perhaps game publishers could provide a microsoft style EULA that makes it ilegal to sell used copies of OEM windows.
And like microsoft, they can choose not to honor any of their obligations in the EULA (RE refusing promised refund mentioned if you disagree with the EULA, forcing opensource buyers to buy windows with their laptops)
New users will install base, and be disappointed when they see the programs they want are not in apt. They don't know a decision has been made to make it harder to search/install non-free software. They probably have never looked at sources.list
I think a better solution would be a warning by APT if you install a non-free package that your free distribution will be tainted by the non-free packages license. Like when you add non-free kernel modules to the kernel.
Highpoint internal ide caddies support hot-swapping if you also have one of their cards.

There are also 3rd party caddies based on their chipset.
Slip of the tounge, i meant X. Also I said "and a card so old" meaning a card other than the 3DFX's, trident or somthing. Its soo old the bios screen takes a few seconds to draw:)
The point of the post being the 2D quality of 3DFX verses Nvidia btw.
Matrox vs Nvidia is pretty obvious, i've heard Nvidia scrimps on everything but 3d, but how is 3DFX compaire on image quality?
I'm still working on a 3DFX Banshee here (voodoo 2.5) My only other cards are voodoo3's, and a card so old that its unsupported in linux(but not win98(!?)).
I seriously cannot understand a damm thing the Dell support people say, so i've been telling all my customers that Dell computers are good but come with no support at all.
Emails are also a waste of time, most of the time i don't think they read the email, its more like a script that picks out keywords, even when you've replied a number of times trying to clarify.
I've complained strongly to them a number of times, i'm supprised they actually read the complaints and i didn't simple get an email back saying "ok, computers is five good yes ok?"
Please stop saying "Australia" did these things, it's our batshit politicians not the people.
How about a surface that reflects or deflects the laser?
And Lenovo makes cheap consumer pcs. Iomega zips were hard as rocks, I respect that brand more than Lenovo.
[17:14] [Linden003] he's writing about ancient history here (2007) -- it must be slow in the internet security guru business.
Windows users can easily be crashed using this still, but I don't know if it can be used to execute code etc.

they also have a popular free version, so even if you only get it fixed in their database that will probably fix you for a lot of sites :)
maxmind.com seems to pioneer GeoIP information, I suggest contacting them.

They say only one third of the game was stolen? Does that mean it'll be released on 6 cds? damm. :)

In 50 years the SETI guys will have a heart attack when they decrypt a radio message from mars.
