  5. Very easy to crash windows quicktime with images on Owning Virtual Worlds For Fun and Profit · · Score: 2, Interesting

We get this a lot, there's many images out there that'll make quicktime crash. We have an image board for showing things we're talking about, when we hit a "bad" image all the windows users disappear (crash) at the same time. A responsible Linux or Mac user then removes the image so they can return ;)

Yes, and this introduces many useless votes into the system. I have friends who "voted for the old short guy, because that fat guy looks sleazy". That vote had the same amount voting power as the next person that actually took the time to do some research, really think about it, and make an informed decision.

  11. EULA dissallowing resale on Buy Second-Hand Games, Stifle Creativity? · · Score: 2, Interesting

Perhaps game publishers could provide a microsoft style EULA that makes it ilegal to sell used copies of OEM windows.

And like microsoft, they can choose not to honor any of their obligations in the EULA (RE refusing promised refund mentioned if you disagree with the EULA, forcing opensource buyers to buy windows with their laptops)

  12. Warning: Your free distribution will be tained... on Debian Prepares To Vote On Non-Free Software · · Score: 5, Interesting

New users will install base, and be disappointed when they see the programs they want are not in apt. They don't know a decision has been made to make it harder to search/install non-free software. They probably have never looked at sources.list

I think a better solution would be a warning by APT if you install a non-free package that your free distribution will be tainted by the non-free packages license. Like when you add non-free kernel modules to the kernel.
